Family stayed 5 nights. Nice airy room, tall ceiling, clean room, clean bathroom. It was busy in Florence, but any roadnoise to the room did not disturb our sleep. Actually, I think it was quieter here than the other side of the Ponte Vecchio because there was lots of construction starting up at 7am over there. Anytime we ventured to... More

The elevator is completely ancient and can only fit one person with one luggage at a time so... Scary and claustrophobic. If you don't take the elevator there are 97 steps to get to the reception. The service with the receptionists is slightly rude and straight forward..not friendly. The rooms are big and simple- wonderful bathroom with renovations. The breakfast... More

Dear Mrs. A., Thank you for the nice review, we are sorry if the receptionist have been rude with you, it's strange because usually they are friendly and nice but we'll talk with them and check what happened. I spent a wonderful 6 days in Hotel La Scaletta. We enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast each day with hot and cold entrees. Our room was on the 3rd floor and though stairs were not an issue for us , we did ride the elevator up with our luggage. The restaurant had beautiful views and we enjoyed several night caps there.... Pros: Great location, clean very cute rooms, and very nice staff. Cons: Stairs/Elevator (but totally worth it if you can manage those) Details: Such a surprisingly good find! We had decided to walk from the train station with our bags to the hotel. And we were a little tired and grumpy when we got there. Therefore we were initially put... More

Surprisingly good quality for the price and location, a minute or so from Ponte Vecchio. Rooms were cool, modern, and comfortable. Good (free) wifi in the room. Terrace bar has an amazing view of Pitti Palace/ Boboli. Service was wonderful-- helped with luggage up and down stairs. A new favorite!

La Scaletta had everything we could ever want and much more. We visited in the hottest part of the summer and were very happy with the excellent air conditioning and high-ceilinged room. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding, as was dinner, especially we could enjoy them with possibly the best view in Florence. You could literally see everything, from the Duomo... More

I thought La Scaletta might mean "little staircase" -- there are 97 steps from the street to reception, and an elevator built for two -- but it doesn't. (It actually means agenda, or, in film and TV talk, a treatment.) The rooms are small but comfortable; the bed is extremely comfortable; the staff is friendly and helpful; the view from... More

We loved the hotel and the location We booked online and then called and upgraded to a jr suite. It was worth every euro for the bathroom alone! It was a hydro shower with 2 heads jet spray. Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
