we stayed here for about five nights, its a short distance to the centre of the city (hotel close to busy road but not noticable), a fair walk or short bus ride (we enjoyed walking), the staff were very friendly, the rooms were large, clean and stylish, breakfast was simple but very nice except for one mouldy piece of fruit... Old villa, allowing one to step back in time to a gracious era. Slightly tatty with age, but reminicent of long lost gentility. Calm , competent, very helpful staff. Ambiance allows one to shed the trappings of modernity, and slip into another era. Enjoyed our 1 week stay, and coming "home" each day was rewarding. Breakfast room small, friendly &... More

Hotel - a charming villa with a small garden. On the second floor - private apartments owner, and the upper floors - rooms. All hotel collection of antiques items belonging to the owner of the villa. Nowhere have I slept better than in Italy in Florence in feather mattresses on the beds with canopies and bed linens with a monogram!... More

We had a rubbish room (see the pictures if you do not believe me), the breakfast room is always too crowded and you can never find tables, you have to wait for somebody else to finish, and the positioning... OHHH the positioning... well, let's just put it this way: the bus stops precisely next to your bed (don't think for... More

From the reviews on this website - I expected a clean and adequate hotel. This was not what was found on arrival. The confirmation from the hotel did indicate that the room we were given was not recently restructured, however there were vast differences from the photos and reviews and the room that we were given. I would not recommend... More

We had a garden room with an arched doorway, large room made to look smaller by the king size bed but still more than adequate space for 2 people. Large ensuite with 3 (yes 3) showers as well as usual facilities. Plus aircon. Breakfast can be taken in the garden and is more than adequate. 10 mins amble into central... More

Altogether, Villa Azalee was a pleasing place to stay for a couple nights. The rooms were spacious (a single had a double bed, and a double had a double bed plus a day bed) and each one we caught a glimpse of was uniquely decorated. The ac worked fine for us. My only complaints about the rooms (and hallways) were... More

We traveled in Italy for 6 weeks and we researched our hotels carefully. The website made it very inviting. When we read through the Trip Advisor reviews for Villa Azalee, we noted that most of the negative reviews were older with more recent reviews being quite positive. We also noted on both the website and in Trip Advisor reviews that... More

Walkable from S. Maria Novella Stazione, though neighborhood is undergoing significant construction and is somewhat dirty. Property is charming, yet shows its age. Room in separate building overlooking pleasant courtyard. Staff were helpful in carrying luggage to 2nd floor, making reservations at museums and recommending an excellent restaurant in the area with real local flavor, Vecchio Carlino, across from arch....
