This is a great little hotel within minutes walk of the Uffizi Museum and the Ponte de Vecchio. All the usual things people write- friendly service, nice breakfast BUT what sets this medieval hotel from all the others is the 360 degree view of Florence on the terrace accessed by spiral staircase of its medieval tower. At night watch the... More

Room 315 is so great, everything it looks to be. The stairs to get up there though are hilariously steep. But the tower bar at night, with the view of the Duomo and the sound of musicians performing opera in the squares drifting up from the streets...magical. You must stay here to experience the roofs from 315 and the tower... More

Beautiful hotel in the middle of Florence. We stayed here July 2015 and loved it. Even though it's in the middle of busy Florence, it was amazingly quiet. It was so easy to walk everywhere from this central location. Our room was clean, beautifully decorated, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff was kind and... Perfect. Central. Comfortable. A storybook tower for views of Florence. Helpful but unintrusive staff. Highly recommended if you wish to be in central Florence and in a period residence. I'll be back.

We went to Florence for a 3 night/4 day stay. Location wise it was perfect, 2 mins walk from ponte vecchio and close enough to all the points of interest. The rooms may be small but as it was only a base it was more than adequate. The staff were all friendly, especially the lady working the bar. She gave... More

While boasting great history and claiming to be on the higher end of the hotel scale, this establishment managed to create a shabby interior in what could be a magnificent place. The room & bathroom we had were enormous, but, unfortunately furnished with what seemed to be thrift store discards.. The staff were wonderful and the location is exceptional ...... More

We took our grandchildren (13 and 16) to Florence in July '15. This hotel is in an old palazzo: three floors of rooms (with elevator) and a several stories higher tower, two blocks from the Ponte Vecchio on a very quiet narrow back street. The rooms are comfortable though a bit in need of sprucing up. All have their own... More

We stayed in room 315 which is on the third floor PLUS a short narrow stairway up which offers a private large outdoor terrace. Getting our luggage up those stairs was no joke and we were grateful for the help offered. We did have to get it down on our own but managed. Breakfast was fine and location was great... More

I stayed in this hotel for one night, very nice location and building, the roof has an amazing view for all florence, you should take your coffee up in the morning and enjoy florence from up, the rooms are a bit small for me but they have a very mystique european feeling, the breakfast is average, though the croissants they serve... I had stayed for 2 nights in another hotel in Florence that was owned by the same family that owns this hotel. I decided to stay another night in Florence, but the other hotel was booked, so they arranged for me to transfer to Torre Guelfa. It was arranged for me to check in at 11:30 am, but I was... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
