I have been a patron of the Torre Guelfa hotel for many, many years. A few years had passed before my latest visit and some things had changed. I remembered, and longed for, the old Torre Guelfa: 1 floor, 14 rooms, more intimate, a special jewel treasured by the lucky few. Yes, I pined nostalgic for the original Torre Guelfa.... More

Looking for a place to spend one night as we were about to meet friends staying at the double-charging NH 1' walk away, we found this place on TripAdvisor. What a wonderful hotel. Well equipped, very clean on a quiet side street. Eclectic rooms, high ceilings; the bathroom is bigger than the living room with a couch inside it. Al... More

We drove to the hotel, which is quite a nightmare with the central location and the hoards of tourists roaming the streets. Surprisingly, the hotel is completely quite and it feels private. We stayed one night, which we booked the night before. The building is quite nice, especially the 3'rd floor was charming and the private tower stunning. The included... More

We stayed here for one night at the end of April 2015, and what a great experience it was. The hotel is in an old building, which is beautifully decorated (the bathroom in our room was a bit outdated, but I didn't mind because everything else was so awesome!). The hotel is right near Ponte Vecchio, and is within easy... More

I cannot say enough about our stay here! It is in a great location, the staff here were all super friendly and the hotel was very clean. If room 315 is available, you have to stay in it...you feel like it is your own home and the views from the terrace were incredible. We were here for 5 nights and... More

At the top of the hotel tower is a seating area with the best view of Florence you could ask for, you can see all the sites at once! The hotel itself, although old is very clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely too, very polite and happy to help and spoke great English. The only disappointment was that the... More

My wife and I came here for 4 nights. The staff were very welcoming and we were provided with a room of a decent size and good facilities. Only breakfast was available, but this was of good quality and perfectly adequate. I had stipulated on my booking request, a need for a bed without a bed end as I;m 6'4".... More

Ideal location, steps from the hectic pace of shops and sites, yet quiet and calm. Transformed from its medieval beginnings, this property has blended history with modern convenience: our room was spacious with 12 foot ceilings, canopied, super comfortable bed, nicely sized bathroom. (Water pressure so- so for the shower.) Lounge space on the third floor gives the feeling you... More

Dear stibbs9, Thank you for taking the time for sharing this wonderful review with us! We really appreciate when our guests get the feeling of being in an ancient stately home, because that is exactly what we try to offer. We look forward to welcoming you again soon to Florence! Kind regards Niccolò T. More

The location, just next to Ponte Vecchio, is ideal. The rooftop on the Torre may be the best panoramic view in the city and is perfect at sunset (85 stairs to climb). Apart from those 2 important points, our experience at Torre Guelfa was not totally satisfying: - the street can be noisy and if you are in room 208,... More
