Our stay here made Florence one of my favorite & memorable cities in Italy. We were with a Rick Steves group, and this is just one of the many gems that Rick has found while traveling throughout Europe! If I have the opportunity, I will definitely return. Nick & Luigi were very helpful, and the upper lounge was a perfect... More

Stayed 5 nights in this Florence hotel and glad we picked this place since it was very convenient to all the museums during the day time. At night we explored Oltrarno district restaurants. The room we got had a skylight and a nice view of the streets. We had a spacious front area although the shower was a little tight.... More

The staff at the Torre Guelfa Hotel is unsurpassed. Not only are they kind (special thanks to Nick and Luigi), and in our case the need for English speakers. Every restaurant recommended was wonderful. We are not fancy people and love to get into the culture of our visits; food was spectacular. The location could not be better. If you're... More

We travelled Europe last year and this hotel was an absolutely highlight! Staff were very accommodating and helpful (especially the breakfast hostess). The rooms were large and well appointed, was a chance to live like royalty. The roof top bar will not disappoint! Views over Florence watching the sun go down, breath taking! Will return to this special place one... More

We have stayed at this hotel on at least six trips. It may be off-season, always, but a mini-suite, a block from the Ponte Vecchio for approx. $200 Euro's per night is a bargain. We are treated as old friends and always receive first rate advice for restaurants or touring.

It's a small and nice hotel that you will go back again and again. The room is comfy for sure and so is their living hall. I spent few quiet nights there, surfing Internet and felt like home. The highlight is its tower, climbing up the narrow staircase is like you are going through a secret pathway, up, up, up... More

the rooms were small and furnished in a "used" style. It is not that I want modern furniture, not at all. But they were just too used. Bed was not comfortable- especially if you have back issues. The location is fantastic, Breakfast was nice- typical: ham, cheese, fruit etc... The communal living room was nicely furnished, big and stylish.

I spent a LOT of time deliberating where to stay in both Florence and then our 'village of choice' in the Tuscan hills to the South. Wound up selecting Torre Guelfa and very happy with our choice. The people at the front desk could not have been more friendly and helpful with great suggestions about restaurants. We stayed 3 nights... More

We stayed here in 2000, and my memory is of a quaint and elegant boutique hotel. This time, it felt worn and a bit neglected, and the noise from the street kept us up much of the night. Despite this, the location is excellent, a one minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio and the historic heart of Florence. If location... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
