This hotel was our savior after a bad experience with another hotel. We arrived here at night looking for a standard room. The staff person who helped us gave us the guest suite with a huge private terrace -- for the price of a standard room! This hotel has a tall tower/roof deck with the most impressive views of Florence.... More

My mother and I stayed at Hotel Torre Guelfa for 3 nights. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful (and english-speaking). The room was quite spacious and the ceilings are very tall (our room appeared to be about 2 stories tall). The view from the tower is breathtaking - the duomo and palazzo vecchio are beautiful... I think the highlight of this hotel was the rooftop tower where you can get a 360 degree view of Florence. But that's not the only appeal. I was there with friends so I got to see a number of different rooms and I found some of them quite fun. Each one was very different from the other--some large, some... More

Pros: great location, very close to main attractions, less than 100m from Ponte Vecchio. Cons: The rooms have very odd layout and furniture -- uncomfortable and with little space to keep your belongings. The bed was also quite uncomfortable, and I woke up with a back pain. The TV is small. Other reviewers commended the staff -- some people here... More

Highly recommend this hotel! The staff are wonderful. We stayed in suite #206 which worked out great for my husband & me and my teenage daughter and my sister in law. We had our own room with a hall that led to a second bedroom that can be used as a bedroom or a sitting area. We loved the fact... More

My wife and I stayed here for a week in April. We booked far in advance the room with the balcony...this is the third time we have stayed here in the identical room. An outdoor room as large as most living rooms makes this hotel the most special, if any, in all of Florence. Wonderful breakfasts. Three blocks from the... More

If you are a romantic at heart and are traveling to Florence, you should stay here! The building was built in the 14th century, but the tower is older. You will be staying in a Pre-Renaissance palace. The building has been remodeled many times in the past 700 years. It had modern plumbing, TV, phones, unbelievably high ceilings. There is... More

My wife saw this hotel rated highly in a travel book. The tower was a big time selling point. When we arrived at the hotel (Easter 2013) we were not disappointed. The hotel itself is in an amazing location and on a quiet side street. Our room was nothing to special but the tower/lounge/breakfast area and staff were really great!... More

My wife and I visited the hotel for an overnight stay in October 2011 and recommended the hotel to friends of ours when all of us visited Florence for a few days starting March 2 to 5. The staff is wonderful, and that is for starters. The hotel location is tremendous, right near the Ponte Vecchio and within walking distance... More

The hotel is very near the famous Ponte Vecchio, at the centre of Florence: you can visit it by foot. Go to the terrace at the last floor to see Florence. The breakfast is good. The room is large and nice.
