This hotel was a good hotel, in a quiet location of Florence. This hotel is not typical of NH, as it is a old building and therefore the style in very regal. We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel, which has been taken over by the NH group. Hotel and rooms are very well maintained and the breakfast was exceptional! The only disadvantage is the location, its almost 20 mins walk from the city center. more

Over the last year, the Anglo American has really diminished: more and more stains on furniture, bad customer service from the front desk and a general bad attitude when it comes to the 'friendly' Italian hotels we've worked with. As a tour director that just one year ago endorsed this hotel, I must say, "stay away from the Anglo." The Montbello Splendid or the Baglioni are good choices when in Florence. more

We spent two nights and enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent. Only a 20 minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio area but the hotel itself is in a quiet district. Just a block or two to the river. We had a "suite" which was two small rooms - one bedroom, one living room but it looked like two rooms had been put together and was still very small. Bathroom was updated and very modern.... more
