if you like the consistency and the lack of character of a large corporate chain then the Anglo American isn't for you. The room had character, it was huge for a start, with a polished wooden floor, prints of Florence on the walls and a huge comfortable bed, every day made up with the crispest white sheets. The bathroom, was... More

checked in on a mid week evening. pretty entry- was told by reception that we had been upgraded in our room and we went up. Room was very tired with the wall paper peeling off at every seam in a large room. I guess the upgrade was the extra single bed that we did not use. The building does not... More

This was our least favorite hotel on a 12-day tour through Collette's Italian Vistas. The front desk person (Elizabeth) was very friendly and polite but totally overwhelmed by the crowd and could not follow through on any promises. Our a/c did not work, we looked out over some ventilation equipment, the room had old and creepy wallpaper, and the personal... More

I stayed here as part of a tour and the hotel underperformed in so many ways. The air conditioning was pitiful; it's a good thing that the neighborhood was quiet because I had to leave the balcony doors open to have any chance of sleeping. It's a 20 minute walk or a 10 euro cab ride to the Ponte Vecchio,... More

Our room was very large by comparison with other hotels we visited in Italy. The bed too was large and comfortable, probably the best we had during our Italian holiday. Unfortunately the room had what appeared to be a problem with moisture seeping through the wall from the bathroom, resulting in the wallpaper being ruined by the damp. Elsewhere in... More

Had a great time. Very nice accommodations. Room was clean and very nice. Elevator was a little tight but not an issue. Decent location. Close enough to be close but far away enough to be out of the crowd. Short cab ride to the train station. Worth the money.

This hotel is often mistaken with the NH Firenze further down the road, so we went to the wrong hotel initally, Had to pay taxi fare twice. I think the receptionist was having bad day because she was very unfriendly when we arrived but her attitude changed as the stay progressed, think she may having been having a bad day!... More

Perfect for our two night stay in Florence. Staff made everything easy for us from parking the car to showing us the best way into the heart of Florence. Friendly and efficient, clean and comfortable with good shower facilities. Excellent breakfast. We will certainly recommend to others.

Location is 15 mins wak from the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio along a very silent steet - you can sleep with the windows open. Our Deluxe Room was on the third floor and was very spacious with an incredibly large king bed. Breakfast was nice and the staff was very helpful.

We found this to be a lovely hotel. We booked through hotwire and got the room at a discounted rate. Quiet safe area, close to train station. Breakfast amongst the best I've had. Large room with good a/c. Bathroom ok, somewhat small and no tub. Communal areas very nice for relaxing in. Staff amongst the most friendly and attentive for... More
