We found this to be a lovely hotel. We booked through hotwire and got the room at a discounted rate. Quiet safe area, close to train station. Breakfast amongst the best I've had. Large room with good a/c. Bathroom ok, somewhat small and no tub. Communal areas very nice for relaxing in. Staff amongst the most friendly and attentive for... More

Stayed at the Anglo American for 3 days and 2 nights. Not my favorite NH Hotel. The hotel itself must have been a beautiful hotel back in it's heyday. Right acroos the street from the American Consulate. Very ornate and exquisite but unfortunate time has passed it by.The rooms are in need of a major renovation. Many imperfections, wallpaper peeling,... More

We booked through lastminute.com at 2pm on the day.. Fantastic entrance, reception, outside garden. Room was huge! We had a suite to ourselves! Elevator was a bit rickety but worked ok. Perfectly central for all the sights of Florence! Parking was about 20 euros a day, valet service collects and drops back.

As others have commented, hotel location is very good for the train station. On the flip side, the majority of sights are a fair walk: Ponte Vecchio will take 15-20 minutes, though it does mean a nice stroll along the river. A taxi will cost around 10 euro. Either way, if you want to be in the thick of the... More

Great hotel, only 10 minutes walk from the main station. Rooms were big, clean and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped us to organise tours and ensured everything was booked and confirmed. We were able to leave our luggage there once we checked out - no problem. It is in a safe area easy to get... More

A good hotel with a bit longer walking distance to center. You basically get what you can expect from a business like hotel. Breakfast was good, clean room but the staff was obviously not very happy with their work. Stayed five nights and only a couple smiles spotted!

This hotel has the potential to be a very good hotel. The rooms are of decent size and cleanliness and the food is alright. The customer service however is appalling. While my family was having breakfast (buffet style), there was a lady who kept hovering over my family and I. Despite constantly hovering, she was very unhelpful in answering any... More

Stayed here for three nights with a group. Breakfast was amazing...anyone who couldn't find something is just too picky! Nice courtyard area...and the bartender in the lobby area was so nice...even opened our bottles of wine that we bought in town! Rooms aren't fancy, but no complaints! ( except from some group members whose air conditioning didn't cool their rooms... More

We stayed here in August 2013 for 3 nights. The hotel is located a pleasant 20 minute riverside walk from the main sites of Florence but that suited us for its peace and quiet. Other people we met staying in the centre said that their hotels were very noisy at all hours. We booked a triple room for the 2... More

The hotel is modern, clean, and spacious. The rooms are large and well-appointed, and very comfortable. The bar is comfortable, and the bartender even gave me a bowl of ice to bring to my room for my water (no ice machines in most European hotels). The courtyard is relaxing and a good place to just sit and plan your day.... More
