We stayed here for four nights in a standard double. The room was not clean. There were huge cobwebs on the ceiling (see photo), dirt and dust clumps in the corners, hair in the bathroom, etc. The whole place could do we being re-decorated. Our room (room 8) was quiet but the window was small so it felt dingy. The... More

I spent there 4 nights, while visiting Florence with my girlfriend. The location is quite good, close to Santa Maria Novella railway station but also to the city centre. Our room was clean and comfortable (with also air conditioning). They offer a wide variety of choices for breakfast (brioches, cereals, toasts, biscuits, yogurt, and all sort of drinks). People here... More

Spent 3 nights here in early July. Were arriving in a hire car so contacted hotel first to check on driving into Florence and parking. They were extremely helpful. We ended up being able to park right by the hotel entrance (although it did cost 20Euros a day). Staff were very helpful on arrival and throughout our stay. The room... More

The hotel is located about 1 km from Santa Maria del Fiore and Santa Maria Novella. The staff is helpful and friendly (some more, some less, but I don't know the names so..). This is a average 3 stars hotel, unfortunately with some negative sides. Our room was very small, the bed was definitely too small for 2 persons and... More

I couldn't find one fault with this hotel. The two gentlemen who were on the reception desk were absolutely amazing. Polite and extremely helpful. The room was absoloutly pristine with a very generously sized bathroom. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast hostess was wonderful. Firenze has been on my bucket list for a long time and staying at... More

The hotel is located outside of the old town, but it's from walking distance to all the major attractions. E.g. the Duomo is just 10 minutes walk away. There's a public transportation bus stop just 100 meters from the hotel, and in addition Florence City Sightseeing Bus stops nearby as well. The room was clean and quiet, and it offered... More

The hotel Malaspina is a perfectly reasonable 3 star hotel. It is well placed; not too far from the train station and within easy walking distance of all the main points of interest. The decor in the entrance and reception is lovely and the reception staff courteous and efficient (although one or two could do with smiling a bit mire).... More

Location - the hotel is a short stroll from the main train station (Stazione Santa Maria Novella) and is situated on one corner of a lovely open park area. The main attractions are within easy walking distance - Gallery of the Academy (statue of David) 0.65km, Uffizi Gallery 1.5km and Vecchio Bridge 1.6km. There are several restaurants, bars and mini-markets... More

We had just experienced the horrors of the Serena Hotel in Rome so the bar was very low when we checked into the Malsapina Hotel. Our first impression was of a small rather charming hotel - decorated in the lower reception areas rather like a bed and breakfast with small charming rooms (we later discovered that the bar was actually... Well..... I had god expectation for this place being a 3 star hotel, but realistically it's just like a hostel for students. We stayed here for 3 nights, worse 3 nights sleep of my life. After 2300 somehow there are lots of door slamming and people coming and going. The double bed is very small and in a funny position... More
