4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2012 NEW

We booked this hotel as its a five minute walk to the Duomo. All hotels in Florence are expensive unless you stay out of town. The style is Old Florentine and that theme is carried throughout. Our room (122) was large with an inner courtyard aspect. The bed was a zipped twin making a king. The bathroom was also large... More

Dear HughDownie, thanks for your review we arehappy you had a nice stay with us. You see during the high season our hotel (luckly!) is very busy so we have many people here and of course even our breakfast room could be a bi noisy when many people have breakfast all together. Regarding teh phrase Dario told you when you... More

Our family of four stayed in the VERY spacious junior suite and loved every minute of our stay with this hotel. We had 2 single beds and one large sized bed and there were 2 television sets in our room along with one washroom with great water pressure and all toiletries we would need. Breakfast in the morning was delicious... More

Pros: Great location - central to all the attractions of Florence. Clean hotel. Service with a smile. Play-pen was available for our infant. All rooms are accessible (i.e. stroller). Jr. Suite Room was massive. Cons: Minimal amenities - but understood given its 3-star rating. Overall: Outstanding value in Florence. Close to absolutely everything. A wonderful stay. More

I must admit I was a little reluctant to give this hotel five bullets, because it lacks the fancy (and mostly irrelevant) amenities of four and five star establishments. Then I realized what Il Guelfo Bianco DOES offer. First and foremost is cleanliness; it was spotless and remained so throughout our full eight night stay. It is probably the cleanest... More

Our family of 4 spent 6 nights here in May 2012. The room was beautiful, clean and spacious and had a very nice large bath. We looked forward to the breakfast every morning as it was delicious, and extremely fresh. We also loved the welcome drink and 'snack'[mini meal really] at the bistro. The courtyards are lovely and offer a... More

this hotel has a lot of good things going for it: good location (only 5 mins from the duomo), cleanliness, unique architecture and charm, good breakfast! we found it very convenient to get to most places we wanted to visit in florence from the hotel. not only that there was also a mcdonalds beside the hotel, a gelateria, and even... What a lovely hotel! Set in the heart of Florence, only a 5 minute walk from the Duomo. The hotel is a charming mix of old and new, very well appointed. The weather was fabulous during our stay and we were delighted the air con worked so efficiently! The beds were comfortable and the junior suite we stayed in was... More

Our family of 5 spent 6 nights here in April 2012. The rooms were beautiful and quiet. The breakfast was delicious, and all food is extremely fresh. We also enjoyed their bistro. The hotel is very well located and we walked everywhere. Last but not least, the staff was very friendly and helpful - ask Daniele what restaurant to go... More

Four of us, touring Italy, stayed 4 nights at this very well-located hotel. The staff was so helpful with advance reservations for museums, restaurant recommendations, even a suggestion for a hair salon. We had one smaller and one larger room. Both were comfortable -- not luxurious or soundproof, but very nice. Breakfast was excellent, again with very pleasant staff. We've... More

We just spent Friday night 27 April 2012 there. The location is two blocks from the Duomo and three blocks from the Accademia, where David is located. The room was large and the A/C worked wonderful. We arrived at 11 AM and immediately was given our room. I had forgotten my coupon for cheese and sausage at 4:30 PM, no... More
