Some of the reviews are awfully hard on this place. It's not a 5 star resort, my I thought it was perfectly fine, as well as my boyfriend who was on his first trip to Europe. The elevator is old with metal doors and goes through the middle of the staircase. Hotel is on the top two floors of the... More

The front desk people were friendly and helpful. The bed was large and very comfortable. The room was large, sunny, clean and had high ceilings. We were able to regulate the heat to a comfortable level. The breakfast was standard. The location was prefect. We were able to walk to every where we wanted to go. It was also very convenient... The hotel is old....the rooms are dark & need to be updated. The hotel is in a good location...close to the train station , the Uffizi, shops & restaurants. The bathroom is small with a weird shower. There is no shower to stand in. The water comes out of the shower head in the ceiling & water goes all over... More

For us, the place is perfect. Our second trip to Florence, Our second stay at Olimpia. The staff is great. their English is terriffic. We chose a room over-looking the Piazza as we enjoyed the bustling and noice as we drifted off to sleep. the rooms are just charming with their 14 ft ceilings. our room was on a corner... More

I stayed here in July, for 2 nights and I was very unhappy checking in as it was clearly not a three star hotel but given it was high tourist season I would not have been able to find another room easily. If you want to stay in a hostel for cheap hostel prices this is fine, but if you... More

I was traveling with two kids, so safety, quiet and friendliness is important. We could be back in five minutes from the uffizi, and our room, which looked on to an alley was wonderfully quiet and totally dark with the blinds closed (we called it the bat cave) air con was fine. Kids loved the old fashioned elevator and the... More

Excellent location near to Duomo, right at centre of shopping streets near to good eating joints. 15 min walk to station. Hotel is located in the old township of Florence. Stayed at room 9. Very old room with furniture in horrible condition. Badly needs makeover. Room was clean however felt depressing. Bathroom is very small/claustrophobic. Badly needs renovation. Very very... More

We chose this hotel for the location & the price. It genuinely has one of the best locations in Florence, it's on Piazza della Repubblica - absolutely in the centre. The hotel is on the top floor of a large old fashioned building, above a dentist etc. The lobby area is like a good quality hostel - very basic. We... More

Yes the location was absolutely perfect and would definitely stay here again. Fun watching all of the activity on the piazza. Rooms were large, clean and definitely adequate. The bathroom was a bit amusing--could use the toilet, bidet and shower at the same time. The entrance to the hotel is 4 floors up a concrete stairwell. There was a lift... More

As the title says, the location was fantastic, right in the middle of everything. The room had air conditioning, which was great because it was very hot out, and the room was very quiet and clean. That being said, it was relatively no frills. The bathroom had an open shower in it, which isn't horrible except for the fact that... More
