Located in the heart of Florence, and within walking distance of everything you want to see. The hotel was clean, the staff helpful, and the continental breakfast was good (with excellent pastries). The rooms were simple, and the bathrooms were small. This is a 19th century palace, and it is not easy to fit these facilities into an old building.... More

This hotel is centrally located, clean and provides AC. HOWEVER, the hotel is dated and the bathroom is extremely small, even by European standards. The shower is tiny, separated only by a small curtain and shares the same space with toilet, bidet, and sink...This was the only hotel we stayed in across Europe which charged wifi access BY THE HOUR...the... This Hotel was difficult to find, but once found - what a find! It is right in the centre of Florence. Nice accommodations, very freindly staff and an included breakfast to boot. You can walk to many of the major attractions. Florence is beautiful with many sites to visit. We spent a wonderful 3 day there! The Hotel is within... More

This hotel is right at the heart of Florence with most of its historical locations a few minutes from it walking. The Piazza de la Signoria and the Duomo are a mere 5 minutes away from this hotel each! The hotel is old, but that's port of its charm. The bathroom is small and the open shower was a first... More

We stayed for 3 nights and chose this hotel for its location and price. Location is great, Piazza della Repubblica right outside the front door with restaurants and shops right there. Sort walk to all the must see attractions. The old style lift was like the ones I've seen in the movies, a little sketchy but got us up to... More

Convenient location to the main train station (10-15 minutes walking) and it's only 5 minutes from the Duomo and another 5 minutes from the statue of David. The staff at the hotel were extremely polite and we found the hotel to be very clean. The room was a bit tight compared to others we've stayed in while in Italy (and... More

We travelled to Florence for an overnight stay whils ton holiday in Tuscany. This hotel ticked the box of being reasonably priced and in a good location. Our room was dark and faced an inner courtyard/ service area. The bathroom was utterly ridiculous - you were virtually stood in the toilet to have a shower. However, for one night on... More

While the hotel itself is in a marvelous location, the amenities, service and noise level were not worth it. One could find a much better hotel than this one. My friend and I stayed here during mid May, as soon as we arrived I knew the hotel was going to be interesting. The hotel itself is located on the 3rd... More

Too old of a hotel, really needs to be updated especially the bathroom left after one night to find another hotel which was wonderful. Breakfast was so so had better, too bad just a beautiful area for this hotel but not at all appealing. Maybe if they update everything will try again!!!!

Overall: I didn't have a bad experience, but I probably would not stay here again Pros: very clean, friendly staff, overlooking the Piazza dell Repubblica, almost exactly halfway between the Duomo (with the Accademia not far from there) and the Ponte Vecchio, taxi stop right out front, 15-20 minute drive to the airport, 10 minutes from the train station, free... Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
