We stayed for 3 nights and chose this hotel for its location and price. Location is great, Piazza della Repubblica right outside the front door with restaurants and shops right there. Sort walk to all the must see attractions. The old style lift was like the ones I've seen in the movies, a little sketchy but got us up to... More

Convenient location to the main train station (10-15 minutes walking) and it's only 5 minutes from the Duomo and another 5 minutes from the statue of David. The staff at the hotel were extremely polite and we found the hotel to be very clean. The room was a bit tight compared to others we've stayed in while in Italy (and... More

We travelled to Florence for an overnight stay whils ton holiday in Tuscany. This hotel ticked the box of being reasonably priced and in a good location. Our room was dark and faced an inner courtyard/ service area. The bathroom was utterly ridiculous - you were virtually stood in the toilet to have a shower. However, for one night on... More

While the hotel itself is in a marvelous location, the amenities, service and noise level were not worth it. One could find a much better hotel than this one. My friend and I stayed here during mid May, as soon as we arrived I knew the hotel was going to be interesting. The hotel itself is located on the 3rd... More

Too old of a hotel, really needs to be updated especially the bathroom left after one night to find another hotel which was wonderful. Breakfast was so so had better, too bad just a beautiful area for this hotel but not at all appealing. Maybe if they update everything will try again!!!!

Overall: I didn't have a bad experience, but I probably would not stay here again Pros: very clean, friendly staff, overlooking the Piazza dell Repubblica, almost exactly halfway between the Duomo (with the Accademia not far from there) and the Ponte Vecchio, taxi stop right out front, 15-20 minute drive to the airport, 10 minutes from the train station, free... Great hotel for the price. The location could not be better. Rooms spacious and traditional with nice high ceilings. Two problems: 1. Breakfast is served only until 9am which I think is a bit too early for holidaymakers - it was for us! and 2. The shower is in the main part of the small toilet area - as in... More

I was there a few days ago. Although rooms have to be renewed and the bathrooms are quite old, this hotel is worth a stay as the location and the breakfast are awsome, meanwhile it is very clean and all staff is indeed very kind. When looking for it, please note that it has the reception on the 4th fl... More

At these price points, it's hard to complain too much. The rooms are... well, they have a certain charm. Breakfast is very simple, but does the job. Wi-Fi is not too expensive and has OK prices. Location-wise, it could be pretty much as good as it gets in Florence. Walking distance to everything in Florence. Watch out for the restaurants... More

This hotel was a perfect location in Florence. Steps away from the heart of Florence.....The Duomo! Just outside a wonderful Piazza. Quiet hotel. Rooms were large and the bathroom was large too. The breakfast was ok. Loads of sweet breads.....I wish there was more meat and cheese. All in all I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The people were... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
