We had a fairly large room with our own terrace. Room was clean but the bed was hard as a rock. Did not know the trick to flushing the toilet was to press the button not once but 5 times rapidly. Figured that out when the house keeping person was cleaning the bathroom on day 3 of our visit. The...

The room was not very clean. There was always some unpleasant smell in the lobby and the corridor.

Hotel Sempione is the ideal place to stay in Florence. It s close to everywhere, the S M Novella train and bus station (5 mins walk) , Duomo (10 mins walk) ,San Lorenzo Market (2 mins walk) and quite a few restaurants and trattorias and bars. The designer shops are also within (15-20 mins walk) and close to the hotel...

Great little hotel, and handily placed for the treasures of central Florence. Within easy walking distance of the Duomo, Uffizi gallery, San Lorenzo, Accademia, and the railway station. Been there 4 times. Always found the staff friendly and helpful. Rooms and shower-rooms clean. Great base for exploring Florence.

We stayed in Hotel Sempione at the end of June and beginning of July 2011. The hotel was chosen for it's proximity to the train and bus station, the Santa Maria Novella, as we were arriving by train from Bologna. The distance from the station is about 200 metres, through the Largo Alinari (McDonalds on the corner) which then becomes...
