This hotel is near the train station, so I thought it was very convenient. It's also right next to a gelato store, so of course that's a plus. What I like most though is the complimentary tea, coffee, and snack available at the lobby. I thought it was really convenient because I could just stop by grab a drink and... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sempione! The location was the standout feature- very close to the Santa Maria train station as well as the center of town. The staff was friendly, and the room was very clean. I wish I'd figured out earlier that the remote control was for the air conditioner, but once I did the room... More

After finally finding our hotel (we got off at the wrong train station) it is only a 7min walk from Santa Maria Train Station. It's very convenient but it's also in a very sketchy area. We would try and be back in hotel before it got dark. Not to many restaurants near by but luckily there was one right next... More

I have a habit, while traveling, of looking in at other hotels than the one I am staying in, just for future reference. This place was so great that I never thought about doing that. The location was fantastic: a couple blocks to the train station where you get the bus to the Piazzale Michelangelo for the sunset (a MUST),... More

A nice, clean hotel central to all the main attractions and very close to the railway station. Staff were very helpful and recommended some great restaurants. Internet was good, rooms were small but clean. Breakfast was so so. Recommend a stay.

The location was perfect, near the station, near many restaurants. The staffs were kind, also therewere complimentaries in lobby (croissant, tea, coffee). The wifi is perfect. The negative point are: 1. The air conditioner doesnt work properly. It a bit hot in summer, maybe it is just in my room, but im not sure for the other rooms 2. The... More

This hotel is a nice, clean and centrally located. Very close to the Santa Maria Novella train station, the market and museums. The hotel staff are very pleasant and extremely helpful, breakfast buffet was just OK but good enough to start the morning.

I love the location of this hotel, and Sarah at the front desk this the most helpful person I've seen in hotels in a long time! She needs to be running the show there! The hotel has great WiFi and a very nice breakfast. It's a short walk to Duomo and to local shops and even a grocery store! I... More

Great location near the train station and San Lorenzo market. We had a room overlooking the road which we thought would be noisy but with the shutters closed it was really quiet. We also requested a bath and got one. The two ladies on reception could not have been more helpful ( they make this hotel extra special) and there... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections.
