Location Area: very near the bus and train station where all tours and city travels take place Room: we had large triple room at the 2nd floor, however, the room has only 1 outlet/socket and 1 socket in the bathroom. We don't have enough sockets where we can charge our phones/laptops/gadgets Cabinet has small vault Room has Refrigerator Dim lights... More

Family business hotel. It is clean, and a few steps far from the station and main attractions. Good breakfast before 9:00am. Rooms could be noisy if facing the street. Among the facilities I consider a lift a must have while traveling and that they also have and in good condition.

This place is located behind the central station in Florence (S.M. Novella), a safe area to be and quuiet during the night. The desk staff are very helpful, they hand out a map where they underline all areas of interest in relation to the hotel. It is a clean hotel with spacious rooms and they clean the room daily.

I booked this place primarily for it's proximity to Santa Maria Novella, as it is a short walk. It's also not far from the Duomo and other sites of Florence. The reception staff were friendly and accommodating- and the room was tidy and well kept. It was adequately sized (three person room). We faced the street but windows closed blanketed... More

Not the first time that I stayed in this hotel, and fully enjoyed it again. The location is great in the center and everything is on walking distance. The room was really nice, very clean and big with a good bathroom. The staff was really friendly and helpfull, and makes you feel at home. Certainly coming back here soon!

A well located hotel, 5 minutes walk from train station and almost all attractions are within walk distanc (bear in mind that Firenze is a city you enjoy most by walking through it). Rooms are small but comfortable. Buffet has the basics and what they serve is good. Receptionists are kind and always helpful.

I got a single room, with extremely bare furniture. The room and bathroom were clean. Unfortunately the hotel is very close to street cross with a lot of traffic, so the rooms are a little noisy. Breakfast was on the average, though the table were clean and the service very quick.

It's not a luxurious hotel, but for the price, breakfast selections and location, I don't think you can find another that would be better. It's really good if you are traveling using the train, it is walking distance away. The staff are very helpful and always friendly.

Arriving at the central station of S. Maria Novella, the hotel can be reached easily on foot in 5 minutes. Descending from the train, just exit the station to the right, cross the pedestrian crossing, turn left and the hotel appeared in front of us.The location is very good, near the station for easy commute from venice, to pisa and... We stayed at this hotel for one night. The room is big for the rate and the star. The bathroom is spacious and surprisingly has a spa with powerful shower. The shower temperature is easy to adjust and stable. The WiFi is good, no password required. The hotel is very near to Firenze SMN train station and both the city... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
