A well located hotel, 5 minutes walk from train station and almost all attractions are within walk distanc (bear in mind that Firenze is a city you enjoy most by walking through it). Rooms are small but comfortable. Buffet has the basics and what they serve is good. Receptionists are kind and always helpful.

I got a single room, with extremely bare furniture. The room and bathroom were clean. Unfortunately the hotel is very close to street cross with a lot of traffic, so the rooms are a little noisy. Breakfast was on the average, though the table were clean and the service very quick.

It's not a luxurious hotel, but for the price, breakfast selections and location, I don't think you can find another that would be better. It's really good if you are traveling using the train, it is walking distance away. The staff are very helpful and always friendly.

Arriving at the central station of S. Maria Novella, the hotel can be reached easily on foot in 5 minutes. Descending from the train, just exit the station to the right, cross the pedestrian crossing, turn left and the hotel appeared in front of us.The location is very good, near the station for easy commute from venice, to pisa and... We stayed at this hotel for one night. The room is big for the rate and the star. The bathroom is spacious and surprisingly has a spa with powerful shower. The shower temperature is easy to adjust and stable. The WiFi is good, no password required. The hotel is very near to Firenze SMN train station and both the city... More

I have stayed at the Hotel a couple times and the staff is welcoming and helpful. Having arrived in Firenze after getting canceled for our trip to Sicily due to a general strike. We walked In and were greeted like old friends. Due to many cancellations we had a choice of rooms and ended up on the top floor with... More

Thanks so much for your warmhearted welcome during my stay. Although located in the central of old city of Florence, the price was cheap and the hotel was very comfortable. Friendly staffs were also really nice : )

We were treated very poorly by the rude staff, particularly the night manager who argued with us when we asked for his assistance in confirming a day excursion. The breakfast was poor, nothing hot except the coffee. Again the breakfast lady was also rude and unpleasant. The room advertised it was sound proof - it was definitely not! We were... More

I chose this hotel because I wanted to be near the train station. For me, the location was great. I had a single room, which was a bit monastic but certainly adequate. The bathroom was modern, and even had a little balcony (big enough to put a chair on). Breakfast was a typical breakfast buffet, with plenty to choose from... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
