My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Basilea at the beginning of August. We were not impressed by the front desk. It took the lady several minutes to find our reservation on a piece of paper. (We ended up having to point to our name for her.) The bed was actually two beds pushed together. The main reason for... More

Hotel is in a nice spot not far from the train station and the main attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is basic but typical for Europe. The room was clean and a good sized room

Very bad hotel. Staff was rude and not paying attention at all. When we came in she ignored us and continued chatting on her cell phone. The room was dirty and falling apart. Everything from the bed to the walls to the bathroom was nasty. The tv did not work and the safe was also malfunctioning. Overall this was a... More

Location is ok, but everything else about this hotel is poor. The rooms are grotty, the bathroom smelt really bad, the wifi was dreadful, I booked a double and got two singles pushed together that parted in the night, the breakfast was mediocre and the front desk service ranged from polite to rude, all for the price of 120euros a... No question, the location is close to the central station and major attarctions of florence but this hotel needs an upgrade! The hotel staff were nice considering our group (28 pax) arrived 3 hours early, they assigned 1 room for our luggage. You can hear the noise from the lobby of the hotel. Our group stayed for 2 nights and... More

The room does look nice (on first sight) and the location is ok. However... - shower: You cannot take a basic shower: extra small (even for 1 small person), the shower head did not reach till me head, you need to be on your knees and on top of it: no warm water. - breakfast: the positive thing: there is...
