We have booked a junior suite at this hotel close to the new Opera theater in Florence. We have been very pleased with this hotel. Location is very close to the theater and to a magnificent promenade on Lungarno towards the US Consulate offices, Borgo Ognissanti etc. Check in has been done at perfection inclusive the excellent free parking facilities... We had a very pleasant stay in NH Firenze from August 11 till 20. We were especially pleased with the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. One person has earned our special gratitude: Ms. Gabriella of the front desk. She went far beyond the call of duty to help us with a sticky problem of over-charging on the "autostrada". Micheline... The staff was ok, but the check in took some time. Check out was a hassle also because the bills from the restaurant were not correct and they charged more than it was supposed to be which took some time to correct for the reception staff which did not work and the final check for the stay came wrong. This... More

We were here for two nights, in two rooms. The room itself was okay, not huge but enough space. The bathroom was poor - okay at best. There was only one set of towels. The bathroom seemed okay, but if you look closer there was warped wood and water stains which made me wonder if there was a water problem.... More

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 7 days. We use this hotel as the basis for exploring Firenze and Tuscany towns. Overall speaking, this is a nice hotel, modern, clean and with adequate air conditioning, which is not that common in Italy. The only negative thing I could say is the location which is about a 20... The rooms were dirty with stains all over.Bed bugs ravaged my legs. Arrogant service from the restaurant staff and bar. Food also tasted like it was reheated while the cling film still was attached to the salad.

I'm trying to take an afternoon nap currently, and I can hear the housekeeping staff in the room next door. Every time someone enters the stairwell, which happens about every two minutes, the door bangs shut a few times. I can hear people talking in the room next door, people outside at night, and anything happening in the hallway. Keep... More

The service was good, the room was clean, modern and comfortable; wide choice of breakfast. Great for tourist and great for business. Very convenient if you drive, as the hotel is not on the restricted area, and you can park your car in a very affordable public car park opposite to Hotel. You may also chose to park in a... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
