I am gratefull that I had the oportunity to stay in this hotel. It has a great location and the people who are working there are kindfull and always with smile. It is close to all best places in Florence, and from the main opera, 'cause i am opera lover and i was really happy about that. I was also... More

My wife and I stayed over new year and greatly enjoyed the city. The hotel met all our needs which included breakfast that had plenty of variety. The room was fairly simple and kept clean. The staff were all friendly and spoke English so my (embarrassing) lack of Italian wasn't an issue. My only concerns were the single beds pushed... More

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights after staying 2 nights just minutes from the Ponte Vecchio Bridge and the Palazzo Vecchio during New Years Eve and Jan 1. This was a welcome change in scenery as the location of the hotel is far enough away from the center where it feels more peaceful, while also being close... More

We were in Florence for 1 night and this was our abode for that night. Yes i must appreciate the staff, they are fantastic but the double room was pretty small. Options in the breakfast was also less. However the location is awesome... just next to the river argo.. =D

Stayed in the hotel on 13 Dec, arrive at the hotel and 4 of us was tired. The duty manager (Gentle man, sorry but I couldn't remember your name), you welcome us with a big smile. Spent two nites here, the staffs were amazing. Helpful, friendly and big smiles all the time, no offence, but it's not something we saw throughout our trip from Milan and Venice. Hotel's location is not that bad, 10mins walk bus terminal, 20mins walk to train station. Very comfy stay.

Stayed in room #126 for 3 nights, nice and clean room with a good and soft mattress. It was a quite room till around 10-11 pm, could hear the music downstairs clearly. Also could hear the neighbor foot steps. In the morning you can hear the tram starting around 6-6.30 am. So bring your earplugs with you if you would... More

The staff was very helpful and friendly. Frederica was exceptionally delightful to talk to. The room was gorgeous! We had a balcony with a great view of the Arno River and the park across the street. The marble bathroom had two sinks, a nice tub, as well as a standup shower. The king bed was very comfortable and there was... More

Located one block from Fiume Arno river. Located at the furthest north west area from city center. Very walkable for most. Nice accommodations. Good breakfast selections. We used the laundry service, while a bit pricey, efficient. Stayed in another NH property in Siena after having such a nice experience in Florence. All the staff were very nice and helpful.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
