After reading earlier reviews, I was pleasantly surprised with our room, a large King #402 with Duomo View. Although the temps in Florence were hovering at 100 F, our room was cool and comfortable. We enjoyed slow, but reliable WiFi connection in our room. Room amenities included a mini-fridge, flat screen TV, and safe. The bed was large and comfortable.... More

Maurizio and Piero have made us feel very welcome in Florence for our 20th Anniversary Trip to Europe on 10/11/15. They have arranged to get us reservations for the Uffizi Museum which was very helpful. Leo P & Robin Swensen Haffey

The hotel is beautiful but the service and accommodations have been problematic. Despite anThey agreed to change our room because our air conditioner was not functioning. The kind gentleman at 12am last night came up with a fan as he knew there was a problem. He agreed that it was not working and swiftly plugged in the fan. With the... More

Let's begin with the positives points. The hotel is an old palace that retains some large rooms in the reception area, large paintings and frescoes and sculptures on the stairs that give a grandiose air but due to its state of preservation also a decadent look. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Any questions or requests we made them... More

I wanted to like this hotel. It is a sixteenth century palace, remodeled many times. But the Boscolo has to catch up to modern technology or it is doomed. First of all, no Wi-Fi in rooms, only very sketchy Wi-Fi in lobby, and they turn it off at night. Need to print out boarding passes? Forget it. They will tell... More

The hotel is in a great location. Close to railway station And all of the attractions. The staff were very helpful. Booking our tours, The rooms were large. We where on the first floor. Bathroom lighting very poor. Wifi only in lobby. Our room had very poor A/C. When we contacted staff about the A/C got told that it would... More

Please do not stay at this hotel even if they pay you. Tired and run down in every possible way. Pathetic bathrooms , old and run down furniture, ancient light fittings , no air con on some floors, smellly air con when it was there. Terrible service , we asked for a toast - it came after an hour. We... More

Sabina at the front desk made our stay in Florence. She helped us with a last minute booking tour to Ferrari for my husband and son and then helped me plan my day in Florence while they were travelling,, recommended the most fabulous local restaurant just a few blocks away,... checked on availability for rooftop dining experiences over looking the... This hotel is well located very close to the centre of Florence. The lobby area is very attractive, as are the meeting rooms. Otherwise this hotel needs an overhaul - the rooms are large but dark and the air conditioning does not function as it should. There is only wifi in the reception area. The rooftop bar was closed, despite... More

There are several nice things about the hotel: large rooms for an inner city hotel, decent sized bathrooms, a great location close to the train station and also close to the main attractions, down a side street so less traffic noise, & 2 nice terraces, one with a bar. The bar seemed rarely staffed, which was a disappointment. WIFI was... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
