This hotel is well located very close to the centre of Florence. The lobby area is very attractive, as are the meeting rooms. Otherwise this hotel needs an overhaul - the rooms are large but dark and the air conditioning does not function as it should. There is only wifi in the reception area. The rooftop bar was closed, despite... More

There are several nice things about the hotel: large rooms for an inner city hotel, decent sized bathrooms, a great location close to the train station and also close to the main attractions, down a side street so less traffic noise, & 2 nice terraces, one with a bar. The bar seemed rarely staffed, which was a disappointment. WIFI was... More

It was a 3 minute walk from the train station, which was very convenient, other than the fact it was raining that day. It is an old hotel but well kept with classic look to it. The rooms were good, not small but not too big. The breakfast salon was beautiful with a large painting on one wall, windows on... More

Good location, close to central attractions. Great roof terrace / bar overlooking Florence. Rooms OK, no wifi though - just in reception. Breakfast is a big let down for the hotel: not enough to space, too few staff to clear tables. Selection of food poor, and not good quality.

The Astoria has a modest entrance down a side street in central Florence about three minutes walk from the main train station that belies a much more substantial building inside with elegant public spaces and a beautifully ornate main dining room where a buffet breakfast is served. The star of the show has to be the rooftop which provides stunning... More

Lovely hotel close to restaurants and historical sites. The rooftop bar offered amazing views of the Duomo. The decor was beautiful and bathroom was clean. They offer a car park location for a fee, but worth it due to no parking availability in Florence. Staff was helpful and location perfect.

This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station/bus terminal and about the same (or less) from the Duomo. It is in a fabulous position to explore all of Florence on foot (as long as you are reasonably fit, that is!). It is an old Palazzo, so doesn't look like a modern hotel; the dining room we all used... More

We stayed 10 nights at the Astoria. It is a very beautiful former palazzo, with cathedral ceilings and classy decor. We found everything at the hotel was excellent and had absolutely no complaints! The staff were very friendly, and helpful our room on the first floor opened over via Panzani and we really enjoyed our buffet breakfast in the ballroom... More

Clean, historic, helpful staff, magnificent view and right in the middle of everywhere we wanted to walk. Via del Giglio is a one-way street, with the hotel right across from the most amazing Trattoria, La Madia, where we ate 4 times within our 10 night stay. The roof-top terrace is a lovely place to view the city and listen to... More

We stayed here for 4 nights and whilst there are imperfections we were happy here. The location is ideal for all the main sights including Duomo, Uffizzi, Mercato centrale etc. It is a former palazzo and has a feel of this grandeur. The reception and bar areas have the wooden furniture from a few decades past and it suits the... More
