I wanted to like this hotel. It is a sixteenth century palace, remodeled many times. But the Boscolo has to catch up to modern technology or it is doomed. First of all, no Wi-Fi in rooms, only very sketchy Wi-Fi in lobby, and they turn it off at night. Need to print out boarding passes? Forget it. They will tell... More

The hotel is in a great location. Close to railway station And all of the attractions. The staff were very helpful. Booking our tours, The rooms were large. We where on the first floor. Bathroom lighting very poor. Wifi only in lobby. Our room had very poor A/C. When we contacted staff about the A/C got told that it would... More

Please do not stay at this hotel even if they pay you. Tired and run down in every possible way. Pathetic bathrooms , old and run down furniture, ancient light fittings , no air con on some floors, smellly air con when it was there. Terrible service , we asked for a toast - it came after an hour. We... More

Sabina at the front desk made our stay in Florence. She helped us with a last minute booking tour to Ferrari for my husband and son and then helped me plan my day in Florence while they were travelling,, recommended the most fabulous local restaurant just a few blocks away,... checked on availability for rooftop dining experiences over looking the... This hotel is well located very close to the centre of Florence. The lobby area is very attractive, as are the meeting rooms. Otherwise this hotel needs an overhaul - the rooms are large but dark and the air conditioning does not function as it should. There is only wifi in the reception area. The rooftop bar was closed, despite... More

There are several nice things about the hotel: large rooms for an inner city hotel, decent sized bathrooms, a great location close to the train station and also close to the main attractions, down a side street so less traffic noise, & 2 nice terraces, one with a bar. The bar seemed rarely staffed, which was a disappointment. WIFI was... More

It was a 3 minute walk from the train station, which was very convenient, other than the fact it was raining that day. It is an old hotel but well kept with classic look to it. The rooms were good, not small but not too big. The breakfast salon was beautiful with a large painting on one wall, windows on... More

Good location, close to central attractions. Great roof terrace / bar overlooking Florence. Rooms OK, no wifi though - just in reception. Breakfast is a big let down for the hotel: not enough to space, too few staff to clear tables. Selection of food poor, and not good quality.

The Astoria has a modest entrance down a side street in central Florence about three minutes walk from the main train station that belies a much more substantial building inside with elegant public spaces and a beautifully ornate main dining room where a buffet breakfast is served. The star of the show has to be the rooftop which provides stunning... More

Lovely hotel close to restaurants and historical sites. The rooftop bar offered amazing views of the Duomo. The decor was beautiful and bathroom was clean. They offer a car park location for a fee, but worth it due to no parking availability in Florence. Staff was helpful and location perfect.

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
