This hotel was recommended by my boss who stayed there in 2004. I should have checked TripAdviser before booking since it was so long ago. After booking the hotel, read the online reviews about smelly room, flooded bathrooms, bed bugs and noise etc and was very worried . So when we got the room with the broken air-con, we stuck... more

This hotel is old and tired. Staff are not attentive to guests and requests for assistance are often ignored...had to ask 3 times over 2 days for extra pillows! more

In its day it must have been quite a place. Yes location is pretty good, but there are many hotels in this area. When you see the stucco falling off the building, the fake trim falling off inside the hotel, the shower in room 409 is joke, and the bellboy even tried to tell my wife how to shower, because... more

Have just spent a very nice 3 day stay at the Boscolo Astoria although went with fear and trepidation because of the huge amount of negativity on this site. In short this hotel is fantastically located 5 minutes from all the major sites and the main railway station. Yes the decor is a bit old fashioned, often quirky and occasionally... more

Six womem recently spent seven nights in this hotle. We loved it. We were lucky to have rooms onthe 3rd floor which has a terrace. Every night we took our wine out there and chilled. The staff were all excellent - very helpful. They arranged for us to stay one night at their sister hotel in Venice. Was nice to... more

I only got the chance to stay at this hotel for one night and after reading the reviews for the folks that stayed here more than one night, I guess I should count my blessings. The staff was pretty friendly and knowledgeable about information on the attractions in the city. The rooms were a little rough and outdated, the beds... more

We booked two deluxe rooms at this hotel hoping that we will receive the quality of a four star hotel. Instead we had to change rooms as in one a toilet was broken and another had a broken shower. Plus they were smelly. The stuff was hesitant to provide us with new rooms and those that we agreed on had... more

I was staying there for two nights while having some business appointments in Florence. To say the truth, I have never thought that you could be attacked by a bed bugs in a 4 star expensive hotel in the centre of western European country. This is what has happened to me. On the first night I was very tired and... more

Friendly staff at the reception but definetely not in the breakfast room. Spectacular view on Florence from the terrace of room no 512. You will feel comfortable only if are not taller than 1,75m.The room is on two levels and the ceiling is at ca. 1,90m in most parts of the room. more
