Four star hotel? No way. Badly designed baths that were not properly cleaned (slight odor - make an educated guess what kind...), mattress that was 10+ years old and most certainly missing a few springs, front desk that was just about acceptable in terms of service, if that. One of our assigned rooms had people already staying there - their... more

My friends and I were looking for a place to stay the next day, so we sat in the internet café and surfed us through the Florentinian hotel landscape. First we found only mediocre hotels, but then the Golden Tulip Mirage, a four star which offered us a Quad room for a price better then most 2-stars. The hotel had... more

I stayed here the first time I ever went to Florence (I am catching up with my late reviews) and I was sorely disappointed with the surroundings. You expect Florence to be this postcard place and it is when you arrive at a place like this that you realize it is not all postcards. This is far from the center... more

Me and my partner stayed in the Florence in October we had a great time, the maid came to clean our room every morning and if you were still in bed she would come back while you were out at breakfast, there was always someone cleaning the hotel, the staff were friendly and the fact you could hire things and... more

Very disappointing for a four-star hotel. Extremely noisy, bad food and too far away from the city centre. We stayed for a couple of nights; the first one we couldn’t sleep at all as the air-conditioning system was on top of our bedroom on the roof and was tremendously noisy. The second night we were relocated to a “more quiet”... more

we stayed 5 days; a great value; breakfast quite satisfying; front desk young gentleman very helpful; we "bussed" into city center easily (used bus system all around Florence); was afraid to stay here after some of the reviews......turned out great. more

Stayed here in August 2006 with my fiance while on a driving trip around Italy. We chose this hotel becasue at 59 euros for a double it was cheaper than staying in town and we had a car which would make it difficult to get closer into the centre of Florence anyway. 10 minute bus ride to city. Staff service... more

Upon entering the lobby mid-afternoon, I was shocked and bothered by the lack of people around. . I never saw another guest even into the evening hours! This made me very uncomfortable and I couldn’t help but wonder what was it that I didn't know about this place that others did. The receptionist was totally bored/uninterested and did not help... more

We spent 2 nights at the Golden Tulip Mirage Hotel recently. It is advertised as a 4* hotel but does reach the standard we would have expected from a 4*. None of the reception staff was particularly helpful and, in one case, the female receptionist on duty on the evening of 3 August was rude and unwelcoming on our arrival... more
