The hotel was in a great location, our room was decent (and clean). I just have a few complaints. First of all, we pretty much got upgraded at every hotel (the second we said we were on our honeymoon) and they were the only ones who didn't. So we had two (separated) single beds in our room. Not comfy, if... more

I'm a bit bewildered by the negative reviews of this hotel. My wife and I stayed there for 7 nights in early July and it really added to a tremendous Florence experience. I guess you get what you ask and pay for. We reserved a superior room and asked for an upper floor with river views. The room was very... more

This is a beautiful older hotel which is perfectly situated for walking to see various sites. Ask for a balcony! The staff is very helpful and the breakfast which is served in the hotel restaurant is outstanding. more

The hotel may have rooms with lovely views but my poor colleagues ended up in tiny rooms virtually dark because the windows faced an internal shaft with no daylight that overlooked the room on opposite side. Apparently hotel was full, but a cheapskate way of filling rooms. Can only guess those paying more on rack rate get preference? more

Dear Sir/Madame, First of all let us thank you for your stay with us and for having taken the time to post your review on Tripadvisor. It is true that not everyone gets a view since our prices are actually based on the views our property offers: Classic rooms are located either on an internal courtyard (maybe the type of...

We were upgraded to a suite overlooking the river - the view was from our balcony was picture postcard stuff! Period furniture, but very clean. Large comfortable bed, two TV's, ipod dock, in fact everything. Really nice lounge, bar and restaurant. Breakfast spread was ample and high quality. The 10 minute walk to main square was small price to pay... more

Let's start with the good things.....the hotel is beautifully situated over the arno river and our terrace had gorgeous views. Breakfast was included and was a really nice spread and the maid service is incredible....lthey visit the room 3 times a day.....and thats where the good ends. Most of the staff made us feel as though we were bothering them... more

We were one of those who were not upgraded, but we did have one of those amazing views of the Arno River. Our room was very clean and comfortable, although a touch dated. The shower doors didn't contain the water well, so we were fighting flooding in our bath every morning. Also, most of the electrical outlets didn't work, so... more

My husband and I loved this hotel. We had a beautiful view of the River and loved the staff especially Michele Massoni and Antonio Pagano. The downside was the hotel was about 4 blocks off the beaten path but I would take it for the room and the view. The breakfast was wonderful. more

The receptionists were slightly gruff, but our porter was positively bursting with joy. We were escorted up to our room on the first floor in a teeny tiny elevator, but boy, were we blown away when we stepped into the room. I can't even call it a room, it had an upstairs! When we first walked in, there was a... more

We stayed for 3 nights at the Plaza Lucchesi in a classic room. The room was average size but had no view at all (looked out onto a wall) and the window barely let any light into the room so it felt a bit claustrophobic. It was also older style and while clean, cracks in the shower and peeling wallpaper... more
