We travelled to this hotel by train, so the location was very appropriate as it is so close to SMN station. The rooms and breakfast are ok, the location is perfect for walking Florence. We enjoyed the views from the terrace but the food served at the restaurant was just ok, I'd say you pay for the view and not... More

We stayed at the Baglioni for 3 nights while visiting Florence. We were traveling with our 2 children, and the hotel was very accommodating with getting us adjoining rooms (most Italian hotel rooms only comfortably accommodate 2-3 guests). They also let us stay one extra night without any hassle. One of the most convenient features of this hotel is that... More

The Grand Hotel Baglioni is a charming historical hotel in the heart of Florence, conveniently located across from SMN train station, only steps from the Duomo and within easy walking distance of most attractions, shops and restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff, service and style from the minute you deal with reception plus the amenities in the room you think... More

The Hotel Baglioni is a charming historical hotel. The terrace on the roof is not to be missed. Excellent views of the city. We did not eat there but did sit and had a drink one evening. Perfectly romantic. Each room is a little different and there are stairs on each floor. Didn't bother us but if you have a... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and the location of this hotel made our stay very enjoyable. The hotel is very grand and the rooms are very clean, but decor is very old fashioned and traditional and not really to my taste. Having arrived and left the city by train, the location is brilliant as you see it as you... More

We stayed here as part of a two stay holiday, this hotel was our base for sightseeing. Its charming building and helpful friendly staff could not be faulted! The roof top garden is beautiful looking across the many historic buildings in Florence, thank you to Angelo in the bar who was very attentive.

Stayed here for 4 nights as part of a two centre holiday. The hotel is classic and if you like modern hotels this is not for you. Full of charm and character. Great location for the train station and witin easy walking distance of most attractions. The room was large and spacious for the 3 people sharing. Beds were comfortable,... More

We booked this hotel direct which gave us a small upgrade (red carpet room key) that entitled us to a window table at breakfast with a great view over Florence and late check out if we needed it. Excellent location close to the main rail station. We had an internal room that overlooked a small garden with a good sized... More

We booked one night in a deluxe 4 bed room, for two adults and two children, and it was lovely. On the front of the hotel, first floor, and one of only two (that we could see) with balconies, so we spent quite some time watching the world go by in the nearby square, and to-and-from the main rail station... Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
