We stayed there for 5 days, it was magnificent. The location is great, on the piazza near all facilities. Everything worth sightseeing is just walking distance away. The hotel ittself was great, resembles a 19th century palace. The furniture is quite antique which perfectly fits into the whole ambient. Food acceptable for hotel standards, tho I wouldn't recommend trying a... More

It is very well placed and the price is ok for what they offer. The rooms are very traditional and quite small , the door to the hallway seems very thin as you can hear everyone passing by and what they say , the bed is quite hard .

Grand Hotel Baglioni is simply stunning. We had a suite with a balcony and the room was wonderful. Close to Firenze train terminal and easy walk to everything in Florence. The décor was splendid and gave the feeling that we were certainly staying in a "Grand Hotel". Staff were very accommodating and the service was excellent. Very romantic and would... More

We stayed one night with my sister in law, so we booked two rooms. We arrived late at around 9pm and our greeting from the receptionist was one of total indifference. We were not welcomed, greeted, shown to our room or offered any information about the hotel. Fair enough! Our room was a superior room therefore it was very elegant... More

We stayed for three nights after Christmas and had a fantastic stay. The staff were all friendly, the service excellent,we were upgraded to a lovely suite at no extra charge and the hotel was ideally situated in the centre of Florence, within walking distance of all the tourist sights and also the main railway station.

While in Tuscany for a wedding, we stayed in Baglioni. The hotel is conveniently located by all of the popular tourist sites, and walking distance to many bars, restaurants, shops, and the train station. The service was a bit huffy, but we can chalk that up to Italian hubris :) I highly recommend checking out the rooftop views...absolutely breathtaking. You... More

My wife, 7 year old daughter and I stayed here for a week on United Miles. The hotel was historically interesting, the triple room (248) was large and moderately updated. There were some little things we noticed due to the age of the building (like bits of the parquet floor coming up, one non-functional outlet, and other minor signs of... More

The Grand Hotel Baglioni has breath taking views of the Dome and the city of Florence. It is situated within a few minutes walk to the train station and to the Dome. Lots of lovely restaurants near by. When I opened the window in my Room I stunning view of the Dome. The staff were very kind and the Christmas... More

The hotel is very old but is beautiful and located within walking distance of many wonderful sites and great dinning. We were very pleased with the accommodations. It has old world charm with it's beautiful woodwork all around. Our room was very large with a great view of the city. We plan to come back the next time we travel... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
