I have alway desired to go to Florence all my life and this has been in my opinion been more than I could have hoped for. The service in the hotel was second to none. The room that my wife and I had was lovely comfortable and was cleaned every day with a clean change of linen and towels. The... more

My partner and I had been touring around the Italian cities and had chosen the Grand Baglioni for our stay in Florence as the price seemed really reasonable and it was close to the train station. We were extremely surprised to find the level of quality we recieved for our money! The hotel is in a traditional style and is... more

Now, that's real old style top class hotel. It's not a small one, but the staff still treats you with respect and is well mannered, smiling and ready to answer. The room was clean and furnished with dark, solid wood furniture, not the ubiquitous Ikea style or seet and pastic things you find everywhere. The whole hotel is permeated with... more

We choose this hotel because we were using an American mileage award, so our options were limited. I asked for quiet rooms as I had read on Trip Advisor that some rooms could be noisy. We were lead down a long, dark hallway..... and I mean like through three cobbled together buildings...... and arrived at our small rooms with a... more

What a mistake ! The rooms are Dark, Hot, Humid and the hotel management refused to turn the air-conditioning on. The outside air temperature (according to Florence Airport's Temperature guide) was 28 Degrees. The hotel dictates when it is hot enough. The evening temperature was bearable, however the noise and traffic fumes are overwhelming not withstanding the mosquito bite risk... more

Of course all reviews all welcomed and well considered to improve our services. To respond to this kind of reviews is due, not only to justify any eventual failures, but also to give us the opportunity to clarify some important issues. It is true that unfortunately our distribution system doesn't allow to supply at the same time both heating and...

My partner and I just stayed at Grand Hotel Baglioni. We did not have a reservation and needed an hotel next to the Train Station. We made the reservation the night before through a travel site. The area is not the cleanest or quiet area in Florence but next to main sites. Once we got into the hotel the staff... more

Found this hotel through Hotwire, we were looking for a 4-5 star in Florence. Ok-check in, old musty smell when you walk in.. The room is of good size but again - Old Musty Smell.. We thought "oh let's just turn on the AC and everything would be ok" Click, click what no AC.. Called down to the front desk... more

I am very sorry I could not fully respond to your expectations but please let me give you some due explanations. Sometimes it happens that a musty smell comes from the municipal sewage system but I would like to underline that this is not frequent and out of the hotel control! Unfortunately, we have not (as most of italian hotels)...

Here we are, if I only checked ta before booking this hotel I would have gone somewhere else. The location of the hotel is great, being really central and they also have a beautifull restaurant at the top floor. But everything else is to be "gentle" below average! The food is mediocre, the rooms are not antique but old and... more

I am very sorry to know you did not enjoy your stay, as most of our clients do. I am astonished rather that embarassed to read the review as it is really the first time I read such a comment. Of course, I am very very sorry to learn the dissatisfaction of our services. Probably, it was assigned one of...

This has shot right into my little list of favourite hotels in the world - it's such a beautiful hotel, full of character and history. It's very close to the Santa Maria Novella train station -in fact there's a subway passage that brings you from the station right to outside the front door of the hotel and it's then only... more
