This is a great little hotel which is close to everything. We caught the train from Nice all the way to Florence and then walked to the hotel with our bags. This was an easy walk and only took 10 minutes so if you have a bag with wheels or a backpack this is within walking distance. The reception is... more

What a wonderful hotel!! First of all the staff and service was AMAZING! They did everything they could to help you and make you feel very important. The room was incredible! Large, nicely furnished and clean. The bed was very comfortable. We had 2 massive windows and great views of the street below. The bathroom was a good size too!... more

I found this hotel by walking all over city centre in Florence. This is next to Gucci, Hugo Boss - closer to the Arno and Republica. Staff is amazing. very helpful. I mistakenly left my all jewelry when we checked out and realized after I got on the plane that it was not in my luggage. I emailed the hotel... more

We were in Florence for only one night and it was during a holiday, so maybe this place didn't get a fair shake. Nice staff. The room was fine, nothing special, but large enough and certainly clean. We were told there was internet, but when we got there it was "down". They did give us a bottle of wine to... more

The rooms are on the smallish and plain side, but it's clean, well kept and has the required amenities (desk, tv, safe, hair dryer, nice complementary shampoos, etc). You can't beat the location - we had a room that looked directly at the palazzo strozzi. It is a short walk to the big attractions - ponte vecchio, the duomo, piazzia... more

I was so impressed with this hotel. I booked it through expedia so got 3 nights for around $425, which was a bargain. The rooms were very nice, with an armoire, tv, mini bar, huge windows overlooking Florence street, and a beautiful bathroom that was almost as big as the room. There is a delicious breakfast in the morning and... more

The building itself is very charming and opulent; you’ll want to call the bellboy before entering because of the long trudge up the red-carpeted staircase. At the base of the first set of stairs, there’s an old-timey elevator I never used, but which functioned—keep in mind you do have to walk up an entire flight of stairs just to reach... more

This hotel is located in prime real estate on the posh shopping street of Via Tornabuoni. It's surrounded by Gucci and Pucci and Armani, plus it's within a couple minutes walking of the Uffizi Gallery and Santa Croce church. There are good restaurants nearby that aren't too expensive, and it's close to the river for a stroll & a nice... more

We visited Florence for a long weekend, and selected the Albergotto for location and price. We got an excellent deal on the hotel price-wise, and flew to Pisa, and then got the train from Pisa to the main railway station, Santa Maria Novella, in Florence. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from the station, so unless you have a... more

Our family (2 adults and 2 teenagers) stayed in this hotel between 5 - 7 January 2009. Having arrived by overnight train from Paris, we found the Albergotto was an easy 10+ minute walk - even with our suitcases. Reception was on the first floor (second floor for US travellers) and, being a refurbished old buliding, there is no elevator... more
