This hotel gets a strong rating for its rooftop restaurant/bar and a swimming pool too, as well as its convenient short walk to the heart of Florence. The breakfasts are top notch! Excellent service from restaurant staff. The night time ambiance on the roof are the best with a view of roof tops and domes of churches. Our room had... More

The hotel is very clean. Rooms are small but comfortable. We took a taxi to central Florence but you can walk if you want to. Free breakfast included. Good selection of cold cuts, fruits, pastries, and crackers. Breakfast Host, Roberto, is the most amazing employee in this hotel. He is very friendly and helpful. He prepares the best cappuccino in... More

Around a 15 to 20 minute walk to all the main attractions, this very friendly hotel offers everything you could wish on a visit to Florence. Our room was comfortable and clean, The restaurant and bar were stunning with great views over Florence and the swimming pool was excellent after a day of site seeing. good value for money. I... I would definitely visit here again. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is good for all places of interest and near to the river. The bedRoom was adequately sized and my son said his chair bed was very comfortable. The rooftop pool was a very small but welcome addition at the end of a long day sightseeing.

Such a cute and perfect hotel for Florence!!! I searched on trip advisor for a great place to stay. 6 months and prior they had some reviews that needed to work on some building updates and customer service, but more recent reviews said they were great so I gave them a shot! I loved it! If they had any issues... More

Hotel was walking distance to the heart of the city. Very clean and friendly staff. Not a luxury hotel but an amazing value for the price. The free breakfast buffet on the terrace is AMAZING. Made the hotel experience. Great value for a relatively affordable option :)

The hotel is located in a quiet spot 10 mins from the train station near to the American consulate. Main lanmarks are roughly a pleasant 15 minute stroll along the river. Reception staff are helpful, décor is pleasant. Room was clean and air conditioning worked OK. View from room onto the street was a little non desript. Breakfast is served... More

Our room was adequate - we had a four poster bed but the room was a little cramped. The air conditioning was not very powerful but did help with the heat. Breakfast was lovely sitting outside on the roof of the hotel and was continental style. We ate one evening outside overlooking the rooftops which was very pleasant although the... More

My husband and I booked to stay here to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. The hotel was exceptionally comfortable...we upgraded to a superior room to enhance our stay with a balcony. The facilities were faultless. However what impressed us most was the excellent restaurant on the 6th floor. The breakfast was impressive with a wide selection on offer....and the staff... More

We stayed for four nights at this hotel with my family. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The rooms are quite nice and the beds are comfortable. Staff are friendly and courteous. The location is also very good, quite close to the railway station, yet tucked away is a nice quiet lane.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
