Very nice hotel not too far from the city center. Wonderful roof terrace and bar which had amazing views at sunset into evening. Exceptionally helpful staff. Room was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely go back.

My mother and I chose to stay here based on the great reviews. We were sorely disappointed. We stayed at three hotels during our trip to Italy--one in Venice, one in Rome, and this one in Florence. This one was the most of expensive of the three, and yet it was the only one where our stay was not enjoyable.... More

We stayed here at the beginning of July. Everything about this hotel was exactly what we wanted. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the views from the roof terrace were fantastic! There are only two hotels in Florence with a rooftop pool and it was a great added bonus. I would definitely recommend staying... More

This hotel seems to be family owned by Swiss and they are looking to pinch pennies. The air conditioning was not really cooling by room. The ceiling starting leaking big time one night. The handyman opened the large patch in the ceiling and said it was the AC. He did nothing but closed the hole in the ceiling and used... More

Hotel in Firenze. The staff is anxious to assist you. The room is what was requested. One large bed. Lots of closet space. Air conditioning works. Large bathroom with shower. Very good location. A healthy walk to any piazza. Restaurants and upscale shopping just a few minutes away. No need for a taxi. Walk... Rooftop pool. Lovely breakfast and lots... More

This hotel is the best in Firenze as they have a roof terasse where you can relax and take a swim if you want. You can also eat all your meals up there if you want . View over Firenze almost like from the highest tower in the city. Reception "people was of high class👍🏼food very good, personal in restaurant seams... More

What's to say about this hotel, I stayed there with my family and the real bonus was the roof top pool (although small) and lounge. After a long day of absorbing the beauty that Florence has to offer it was great to get back have a beer and relax with the fantastic views over the city! The rooms are comfortable... More

I had expected this to be an easier walk from the hotel, but it was not. Once we got there only one room out of there was ready, which we expected because we were early. We dumped all of our luggage in one room and set out exploring. We were much further from the city center than I would have... More

Great hotel the bar and pool on the roof have spectacular views of Florence. We had a suite with balcony and the room was cool, quiet and beds comfortable. The hotel is right near the American consulate and so traffic is cut off so makes the area really quite (for Florence), but on the downside it's slightly out the way... More

    Staying in Santa Maria Novella

    Neighborhood Profile
    Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
