Our room was adequate - we had a four poster bed but the room was a little cramped. The air conditioning was not very powerful but did help with the heat. Breakfast was lovely sitting outside on the roof of the hotel and was continental style. We ate one evening outside overlooking the rooftops which was very pleasant although the... More

My husband and I booked to stay here to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. The hotel was exceptionally comfortable...we upgraded to a superior room to enhance our stay with a balcony. The facilities were faultless. However what impressed us most was the excellent restaurant on the 6th floor. The breakfast was impressive with a wide selection on offer....and the staff... More

We stayed for four nights at this hotel with my family. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The rooms are quite nice and the beds are comfortable. Staff are friendly and courteous. The location is also very good, quite close to the railway station, yet tucked away is a nice quiet lane.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights in August 2015. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. The man who managers the breakfast, had a great sense of humour and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was 157 on the ground floor, it was a bit tired but it was clean and the bed was comfortable.... More

This is perfect for a short break...terrace and pool on the roof, made Florence the perfect mix between City break and Holiday! The drinks were reasonable, by hotel terms, and it is short walk away down the river from the center of town. I would go back in a heartbeat as it was real value for money!

I still can't believe we managed to find a hotel like this in Italy. I have been all over the country, visited many times and have seen some beautiful and not so beautiful hotels. However, this one stands out, and what a breath of fresh air!!! It was a welcome surprise to step into such a crisp, clean hotel cleverly... More

A well located friendly hotel, situated with walking distance to the centre of Florence. The hotel could do with some investment, the bedroom furniture and soft furnishings are basic and tired. However, the staff compensate for this. The breakfast is good, and the staff manager amusing, slightly 'Manuel' in character.

Kraft Hotel is in a residential area of Florence. 1 block from the Arno river, just by the USA Consolate. You won't be in the heart of the action, but a quick cab ride or about 15 min walk you are in the dead center of the city.

Wonderful location! Quiet and close to river. Easy walk to hop on hop off bus and easy walk to town. Staff was amazing and helpful. Beautiful location on roof top for breakfast every morning with delightful staff and nice variety of breakfast items. Wonderful place for dinner and to watch the sunset overlooking the city. Would definitely stay there again.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
