We stayed here in November 2014, but got delayed in reviews :) We stayed here for two nights while in Florence, Italy. This hotel offered a truly Italian experience. Our room was elegant with high ceilings. The view out the shuttered window gave you a view of Italian lifestyle. The longe was quite nice and the employees were VERY helpful.... More

We are from Brisbane Australia - stayed in room 159 between Jan 18 to Jan 24. We initially booked this hotel for 4 nights, but we later extended our stay to 6 nights. This hotel is located in a very quiet location in the central districts and everything was within walking distance. All the staffs were very kind and friendly.... More

Our Hotel Kraft experience was great. The service was good, the included breakfast was fantastic and the location was exactly what we were looking for- out of the hustle and bustle of the main city center which made it great value for money. It is about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the main square and shopping areas but... More

we did have a very small room, but it came with a beautiful balcony so it equalled out. Lovely hotel. Lovely reception area and also an amazing rooftop, the bar was lovely too. I cAn imagine this hotel being even better in the summer. If I was to go back to Florence I would stay here again.

The hotel was located in easy walking distance to main attractions. The rooms are of average size, but have high ceilings which give the impression of a larger room. The breakfast was an added plus -- good choice with a lovely view of the city. There is also a rooftop pool that we weren't able to enjoy because of our... More

Positives: clean bed and towels. Breakfast ok. Quiet area. Negatives: room reeked of smoke and corridor also very smokey. Room very noisy from maintenance work and very noisy guests above. Room decor shabby, carpet very badly marked. Shower soaked bedroom on every use. No replenishment of bathroom supplies or tea/coffee

We visited Florence for four days in September 2015. The Kraft is excellently situated for a gentle stroll to all of the main highlights in the town centre and not far from the river (so it's easy to find your way back as well!). Staff were really helpful and pleasant, drinks and food reasonably priced and the open terrace on... More

It's a city hotel so don't take the amount of stars too seriously but, you will love the breakfast on the roof and the evening drinks. Service is great but for dinner you must find the romance of the view more important than the quality. Wines are supurb. What we loved about this hotel is that it's near the center... More

I was very happy staying at this hotel. It's located a block off the Arno River and is a mere 10 minute walk to Sta Maria Novella rail station. It's close enough to walk to all the major attractions of this marvelous city. We went off-season (January) and had the place pretty much to ourselves. Our room was right off... More

This hotel is within walking distance to the river and the main attractions and yet it is in a quiet area. It has rooftop dining and good food. The lobby is nice and the staff is friendly and helpful with advice on local restaurants and directions. I left my iPhone there and they handled shipping it back to me in... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
