We stopped here for three nights and the location couldn't be any better. From the hotel near enough all major sites are walking distance and every time stepped out the hotel front door and turned right we were constantly amazed at Florence Cathedral. The host was very pleasant and the room very clean with good air conditioning. The main downside... More

Room and location were both great. The hotel is steps from the Duomo. You are in easy walk able distance to all attractions and restaurants. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. The hotel manager was very friendly and helpful our entire stay. We would definitely stay here again.

The best part about the place is location. Your right near to most things in the city. The room was nice and clean and in a very old building. The breakfast was lacking, but we didn't care because there are so many nice places nearby. The staff was very friendly. If you are going to take your car here, have... More

Grazia is a very kind and helpful, since the arrival she took care of me. The room is really comfortable and the cleanliness is excellent, it is also enriched with beautiful frescoes on the ceiling. But its best quality is the location, situated in a narrow street on the side of the Duomo, it is in the center and from... More

Pros: - Superb location, just a few steps away from the heart of the old city (the cathedral) - Fair room - Free Wifi Cons: - continental breakfast is very basic, cold, and not of best taste/quality - parking is tough and paid options are very expensive (~27 euro per night)

We stayed in a double room in this small guest house on the 3rd floor of this grand old high ceilinged building, literally straight off the square of the cathedral. We could hear the hourly bells which added to the romance. Don't worry- the bells stop at night. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished, and breakfast was served in... More

The location is great, but I wouldn't stay here again. The B&B is on the third floor and there's no lift. We stayed in room 5, which had several large water stains (some with mildew) on the ceiling - not a pretty sight. There was also a stain on one of the bed throws. On our first night, we barely... Location just around a corner from Duomo. Great! Everything clean and tidy in a spacious room. Houskeeper very friendly and helpfull. Recomended us 2 great restaurants, one being just downstairs from our accommodation. Only thing - the breakfast could get better. It is served in your bedroom which is great, but not much to choose from.

As others have said, great location a stones throw from the Duomo and central to everything else. Rooms were cleaned, well kitted out and the lady running things was very nice and helpful. Only marked it down based on the fact I was woken one morning by a running shower from next door more than likely. Breakfast was ok, croissant,... More

Stayed for 1 night for Bruce Springsteen concert, the B&B is right next to the Dome, which was great. We walked from the train station, and walked everywhere else too. Good size room, VERY clean, nice bathroom, comfy bed. Better than many hotels I stayed at. Service was great, nothing was too much trouble, printing our train tickets or storing... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
