The hotel is located on a pleasant tree lined street. Although we were unable to check in early, there is free and easy parking across the street in the lot. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the bus stop, which takes you directly to the city center. (The hotel map also says that it is a 25 min walk... More

We were staying with friends near Siena, and needed to drive to Florence for a one night stay before flying out the next day. We have stayed at Hotel David, just down the street, which is a fabulous place, but they had no rooms available. Since we made the reservation only a few days out, our choices were rather limited,... The hotel is a 30 min (brisk) walk to the center of Florence. The first thing we noticed when we entered was that the entire hotel had a really strong smell of scent candles (maybe to cover damp?). On returning from a day out in Florence I accidentally went into the breakfast room. There was food was left on the... More

This was in a nice area walking distance from the centre. Good wifi. Nothing else in my room worked, TV, PowerPoints. It wasn't soundproof either. I was glad I only stayed one night, and that it was cheap. Nice reception staff.

This hotel is very close to piazzale Michelangelo. Slightly away from the city center, you can easily walk downtown, or go up to the wonderful view of PIazzale Michelangelo. The room I got was small and cute, with air conditioning, and a tiny bathroom. Overall, a cute hotel. Maybe a better choice for whoever has a car.

Very disappointed by this hotel. The room and bathroom were clean but the rugs in the bedroom were filthy. Staff were friendly and helpful enough. The breakfast was very basic but there was certainly plenty of it. The location of Liberty was perfect as It was a 10 minute walk to the centre of the city. I certainly wouldn't bother... More

Great hotel for a decent price in a fabulous city! We booked last minute and were very happy. The front desk is a bit grouchy, but otherwise we have no complaints! We are definitely returning in the near future!

This hotel is ideal if you have a car. Like others have said, there is free parking across the street from the hotel where many other cars are parked. The parking in the hotel isn't really worth the extra money. We parked the car across the street and took either public transport or taxi for the rest of the time... More

Lovely hotel and super friendly/helpful staff. Room was large and comfortable. Continental breakfast is slightly limited but ample. The setting is great if you don't mind walking. It's about a 20min walk into the centre......but only 10mins to the Piazzale Michelangelo where you get an amazing view over Florence. There are a few nice restaurants, bar and cafes within 5... For someone like us who wants to be able to go to Florence by car by way of Siena Hotel Villa Liberty is the perfect solution. They offer free parking, free internet, their breakfast is very very good and the staff couldn't be kinder. What more can you ask for? Yes their price is also affordable. Will be back

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighborhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
