The hotel is situated right opposite the river Arno. Its a small hotel run by family. It has neat and clean room though carpet in the room is old. The owners are friendly and helpful. I have stayed thrice in this hotel. They spacious family rooms to accommodate four adults. The breakfast is average. The best part of the hotel is... More

We pulled into Florence half dead, at wit's end, tired, frustrated, hot, and a bit overwhelmed...and the Hotel Privilege was like a beacon of calm and help. They let me park my rental car there for a reasonable price (one source of major frustration that night) and provided last minute rooms when our AirBnB place couldn't be located. The managers,... We came to Florence after a long flight and immediately went to our hotel which we booked through an on line travel company. Much to our delight the inn-keeper was there at the desk and gave us a choice of rooms. We choose a room facing the interior garden which was quiet and quaint (and beautiful). The hotel itself is... This hotel is on the Arno. It's a little of the beaten path, yet not far from the Uffizi, the Palazzo Vecchio, and Santa Croce. You can choose a room with a great view or a quiet room in the back. It's true that the hallway carpets are tired, but the place is clean and the staff friendly and helpful.... More

The location on the Arno River and a 10 minute walk to the old town is a plus, as is the attentive and caring staff. The room was clean and neat; the breakfast was good, some might say great. The price is right. The “yes, but”? – the place is old, the carpeting threadbare and the furniture is dated. Not... More

This hotel is not the cleanest hotel to say the least, however it's livable even to a germopobe such as myself. An error was made from the hotel I was meant to stay in Florence so I had to find one and quick, the lady at the front was very helpful and kind (Barbara I believe was her name). One... More

We first found this hotel nearly 20 yrs ago via the tourist office. The rooms were large, the location was excellent (just a short walk to Santa Croce and some excellent dining) so when we returned some years later, we drove around until we found it and stayed a 2nd time. Now with our 10 yr old daughter in tow,... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at hotel privilege for 4 nights in April and had a wonderful experience. Our room was ground level after a walk through the building and into garden courtyard where our room overlooked. Clean bed and great toiletries and shower. The staff always welcomed us and made sure we were accommodated. We did not have breakfast... More

My first time at the Hotel Privilege was years ago, when like you, I did my research. I did not know the owners then and since we have become close friends. But I digress, I found the hotel to be in the most convenient location, the breakfast was impeccable, the rooms, much larger than what you would expect in Italia.... More

Needed serious cleaning. Public places were dirty and rugs were filthy and very worn. I booked this hotel for the location based on reviews from trip advisor. We must have the rooms that were the worst if that picture is genuine. We always book standard rooms and have never had such basic, accommodations. At least the beds were clean and... More

Dear Client, thank you for your review on our Property. Please note we only pour a great mixture of coffee beans in the coffee grinder so we do not really understand what the other couple of clients reported to you during breakfast . We might pour fresh still water in the american coffee kettle . We are sure it's about... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Stop and stare at the beauty and symmetry of the Basilica of Santa Croce any time day or night. Unraveling around it are a number of architectural and artistic masterpieces, from the Synagogue to the Central National Library. As a hub for young people, the area gets busy with people who want to have fun: a continuous flow of tourists and locals become animated by songs and dances.
