My spouse and I stayed here in June 2014 and loved it. The staff was very accommodating, helpful and consistently cordial. This positive atmosphere, along with other aspects of the hotel, made it our favorite accommodation on our trip. We stayed for 12 nights and found the location to be ideal for our purposes. The proximity to main attractions and... More

This is a beautifull old period hotel , so well maintained and run. We too felt so comfortable there, and treated as family. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The breakfasts really nice. Location is just great, 2 minutes walk to the city centre, and railway station. Definitely stop there again. Ian &Maree

Please don't go by their description of rooms or the pictures. I got a room that was pushed as one with a heritage touch but was just plain ramshackle. Got a better room when I protested. So please check before you settle in. The so called garden is lame and you would not want to sit there. Breakfast and staff... More

There is nothing bad I can say about this hotel. Family owned and operated and from the moment you arrive you are treated as family! The room we had was spacious (and I was told it was not the biggest one they had) and had a balcony with a beautiful view of the river. Walking distance to all attractions, and... More

This is the kind of place that is exactly what you want a Florence hotel to be.. The staff is so gracious and try's to accommodate your every need. The rooms are spacious and super clean. I think the idea that it's family owned makes a huge difference. If you're looking for a chain hotel, don't expect that. As Florence... More

Florence is my 6th stop of my Europe trip with my family in May. Unfortunately, we choose Principe as Florence have events during that time and we only have limited choices. Location: If you go to the hotel by train, you need to take more than 15 minutes walk to the hotel. Although it is not very difficult to find,... More

Lovely historical hotel in a quiet area (near Embassy) on the edge of the historical center, quick walk to everything. Breakfast included, either in your room or the lovely breakfast room. Great reception in the afternoon with wine, champagne and hors d'oeuvres. We had a beautiful large room overlooking the backyard, very quiet and private. Bathroom was huge!!! Staff was... More

I wanted to love this hotel after the reviews but just did not. Perhaps I was spoiled after being on a Tauck tour & having fabulous hotels. The location was good, easy walk from the train station. The furnishings are antique & not in the best shape. My husband loved it, but I kept feeling that my mother-in-law was lurking... More

My husband and I spent a day and a half in Florence and one night in the Principe Hotel. What an amazing stay! Our room overlooked the garden, which enabled us to sleep with the window open at night and sit on the balcony enjoying the quietness. Everything was wonderful, no complaints anywhere. We were able to keep our luggage... More

This hotel is exactly what I wanted from a european hotel. The detail and the size of the rooms are impressive. The service and room cleaning is impeccable. The breakfast is somthing to be experienced, the presentation and the waiter service is excellent. We would come back here in a minute. The room shutters meant total darkness and quiet. The room...
