We searched and searched for a decent room in Florence that was close to the city center that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Principe fit the bill and was even more than we expected. Hotel staff were all exceptional and the room was rustic and comfortable. They offered nightly appetizers and daily breakfast that were both delicious with... More

This was on the Arno river. An older hotel that has been looked after spectacularly. It had a lovely outdoor garden to relax in . The rooms were spacious and clean . Staff treated you well. Happy to help out recommend restaurants book them for you. Definitely would return here. Sitting in the siting room at night and wine and... More

Our room, with a balcony for cocktails and coffee, looked over the Arno River. Exactly what you would expect from old world charm. The employees couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. The hotel came with parking in a gated courtyard where we were permitted to leave our car for hours after check-out. Highly recommend this hotel…it is a great... More

This small hotel on the Arno has been run with by the same Florentine family since the mid-fifties, and the pride shows in the attentive management. Principe is close to the center without being inside the ZTL; it's a quick walk to the Ponte Vecchio and museums. The location, the parking, the garden and all indoor public areas are superb.... In a great location on the Arno River, a classical building in the local style. The room was large and lovely with the most amazing antique wardrobe. We were greeted with champagne and a fruit platter on arrival. The hotel is within an easy and beautiful walk to the main attractions of Florence. If travelling by car, parking is good... More

Your stay here will feel like your home away from home. The hotel is intimate and comfortable and Giuliano and his staff are gracious and helpful without being overbearing. Our room (#422) had a balcony that overlooked the Arno river. Spectacular view! Gazing over the city was a great way to start and end the day. Besides the full breakfast... More

We spent 5 days in Florence in late October. Our hotel, is three bridges away from the Ponte Vecchio area. It is only a short and beautiful walk to the main attractions. Thank goodness we were able to book here. Right on the Arno river, with no noise, and no throngs of tourists. This is a small hotel, proudly family... More

Fantastic setting overlooking the river, in a quiet part of central Florence, about half a mile from the Ponte Vecchio bridge. 20 room hotel in a classic Italian Villa. Stunning rooms as you enter the hotel. Staff very polite and helpful. Rooms were spotless and spacious in the Italian style. Bathroom was large and clean but dated. Hot water took... More

We knew the place was special when we saw the white carpet runner laid out on the entrance. As other reviewers have said, this hotel is well cared for in all the public areas. The staff is attentive, the breakfasts excellent (you have to ask for eggs which are prepared specifically to order and are not left out in a... More
