The Grifone was a comfortable hotel for us. The bus stop to take us to the main area of Florence was about one block away. Very good pricing (we had two rooms). Front desk was helpful. Breakfast was normal Italian. Very few resturants around the area, eat in other area.

I stayed twice in this hotel and each time for several mights. I find this hotel an extremely good compromise for a city like Florence that has either good hotels with excessive prices or rather bad hotels with prices too high for what they offer. Here we have clean, remodeled and functional rooms, in a modern-like hotel with parking facilities.... More

We stayed one night in the side building of the hotel. Our spatious rooms downstairs had a smell of damp and mold inside. Otherwise the hotel was comfortable and service was very good. Also buffet breakfast was generous and tasty.

Stayed couple days here as a stop before heading to rome. Room was nice nothing special bed was hard but every hotel we stayed in italy had hard bed so maybe thats how they all are. Wifi was great, staff was nice and super helpful, breakfast was good. Not close to train station but quick bus trip away to hotel... More

I went there on a school trip in March with my class. We knew it wasn't near the station but 2 kilometres were too much! Besides the buses are disgusting and full of pickpockets so the only way to go there safely is by foot. It is also in a terrible place, with now shops and it's not so easy... More

Dear Valentina, Sorry you have got a bad impression of our Hotel. But it is not our fault the distance from the train station, and the Hotel was chosen by agency and your teachers. We are in a residential area of Florence, with many shops. The zone toward the airport could be poorer of shops! Furthermore, the cleaning of room... More

Main annoyance: We put our luggage on a chair, and each day we would come back and find the luggage removed from the chair (and personal items on the luggage touched and moved to the desk), and the chair relocated. We thought this was strange, and on the third day, we received this notice (verbatim) on our bed: "DEAR CLIENTS,... More

We stayed in a quadruple room which we booked at short notice when we were in Rome. It was very difficult to find any other quadruple room for a reasonable price in Florence and hotel Grifone was both of those. The room itself was clean although it had a musty smell on arrival. The hotel is a good option if... More

This hotel seemed okay when we checked it....the front desk was just okay, not great at all. When we checked in they needed to keep our passports because they did not want to make time to write down the info on them or photocopy them. I did not like that at all. I don't really feel comfortable leaving my passport... More

Went here as part of a tour group. The experience was so bad I considered never taking a tour with this company again. Pros: The rooms are large. Cons: Members of the group were complaining about odd smells in their rooms. I shrugged this off as whining until I visited the rooms. I would have never stayed in such rooms.... More

I am so sorry that Mrs Sarah did not like the room. She could ask to change it, seen that she describe a safari in a jungle and not a stay in a Hotel in a city. I think if somebody spend a so terrible experience, he will complain at the Reception strongly. No complaint we have got about this... More
