The staff on check-in were terrific and helpful with information about getting around Florence. We were upgraded so got a family size room which was great but decor definitely needs an upgrade. It's an old building so not much they can do the the structure but the room is clean. The bathroom is a step up which was challenging during... More

I have returned to this lovely hotel for another stay in Florence. The hotel is very conveniently located - very close to Florence's Duomo Square - with all the relevant landmarks of Florence in the nearby. I find this hotel to be small and cozy, with very well cleaned rooms and very nice personnel. It also has free Wi-Fi in... More

Located 2 minutes walk from the Duomo, 10 minutes to the train station and 15 minutes to Ponte Vecchio, this small hotel offers a great location, spacious and clean rooms and friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be back for another visit!

Our most favorite city in Italy became perfect because of this hotel. Very courteous staff, great breakfast, good size room & bath, & AWESOME LOCATION. Just few minutes from the Duomo, we could come back to the room in the middle of afternoon & take a short break or change in a rainy day. Then easily go back to the... More

Not the most up to date hotel, but there are so many things to see and do in Florence who cares about decor ? Great spot , very easy to get to and a stones throw from everything you want to see. Good breakfast with lots of choices. A clean homely feeling hotel with friendly and helpful staff

Just down the street from the duomo. Was a great spot and the staff were so friendly. They served a lovely breakfast and couldn't help us more. The room was a good size, very clean too, which is always a must for us. Easy walk to anywhere in Florence. Has all you need!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in April. Having traveled to other parts of Italy, we were prepared for the rather low hotel standards in the country. Hotel Gioia is classified as a 3-star hotel, but it would only be a 1-star hotel in other western European countries at roughly the same price. Its location... More

We stayed here for a night on a quick trip from Rome to Florence. The hotel is easy to find from the train station. While my boys were disappointed that this 3 star hotel from a booking site was not intially as nice as they were thinking, they quickly changed their mids when they found free wifi and a sizeable... We found Hotel Gioia very suitable for our needs in Florence. We arrived by train and it took about 15 minutes to walk there with our cases , a little longer than we thought but it was very busy and only narrow footpaths and the fact we weren't sure where we were going didn't help, after a day or two...
