A delight a stone's throw from railway station. When we selected this hotel we had done so with the specific intent of having a decent room with a proper double bed. We were "on honeymoon" Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner not only with confirmation that he had personally handled the reservation but had also taken specific regard... More

We enjoyed our short stay at this hotel which is very close to the railway station so no need to use a taxi to get there. Good size of bedroom with extra area with desk and excellent bathroom. The only down side was that the bar was never open during our stay.

3min walk from train station (which is 15mins direct bus from Florence Airport), quiet street with several good and affordable restaurant within 2mins walk. Just off the main city centre which meant food and drink was half the price of cafes and bar next to the attractions, but all tourist attractions were never more than 10 min walk away. Breakfast... We were on a bit of a budget travelling down Italy- this place offered us a reasonably priced place to stay. Good location from train station and near restaurants. There was a good breakfast included.

After exact one year you say that you stayed in Hotel City and saying you has been very satisfied. We suppose that “3” is a little poor. Are you able to do better? Many thanks More

The Hotel City is in a great location and so close to all major tourist attractions. The hotel is located 300mts from the main rail station so it's a flat walk and not to far when pulling suitcases. As you leave the Hotel turn right and there is, Deli, dress shops, café, restaurants, market stalls and more, turn left and... More

The City Hotel in Florence is conveniently situated 200m from the Firenze Centrale railway station and we were wholeheartedly when we arrived. The room is beautifully fitted with a queen bed, wardrobe, spacious bedside tables and Airconditioning. The bathroom is large and close to luxurious and I can heartily recommend this hotel. Great value too, with a light breakfast included.

My first impression of Hotel City was not overwhelming. It is located on a side street near the train station, so the location is good. The block where it is located is not that attractive, and there is construction next door, with scaffolding, which makes it noisy during the day. The room, #27, was of average size, but it did... When on a budget it is sometimes hard to find a place that fits the bill but this is such a place. It doesnt look great from the outside but it is lovely inside with great Italian style. The rooms are spacious and the bed comfortable. It's a relatively easy walk to most things you want to see in Florence... More

On our European vacation we mostly booked hotels that were recommended by Rick Steves, so we weren't sure what to expect at this hotel that isn't included in his books, but we were pleasantly surprised to find this spot that has old world charm. It is only about a block from the train station, and although the street it is... More

I was a little worried when I booked this little hotel tucked behind the train station in Florence - because it's well priced for a city where things are pretty expensive in terms of hotels that are well located - but it's fantastic! A short walk from the train station - no need at all for a taxi. Also easy... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
