We have stayed in this hotel four times and recommend without reservation. We stayed on the lower levels the first two times. The lower level rooms were sparse but clean. We moved up to the top floor facing the river and found paradise in Florence. The top floor rooms are spacious, have wonderful views, and outside patios with a table... More

We LOVED our stay at Hotel Balestri! We were greeted by friendly staff. The lobby is very dated and the elevators were small. It's worth paying the extra for the deluxe room! They are on the top floor and have been completely redone with semi-private terraces. BEAUTIFUL! The other floors seemed very dark and old looking. We received a bottle... More

When I finally got around to post I saw that the hotel is going to be closed for renovation for a while, so this may be a little late! But it has more to do with the service and attitudes of the desk staff. The hotel has a great location, very nice breakfast room and in general a very nice... More

Great location. Within walking distance to major attractions. Rooms are much larger at this hotel than what we experienced at other hotels in Italy. Staff is courteous and helpful. Rooms are clean. Large buffet breakfast.

This hotel needs the renovations it is about to undertake, but the location was fantastic. The housekeeping staff kept the room clean and it was very convenient to get to major attractions. One thing to consider on the makeover would be an English tv channel that is NOT news.

We stayed at the Hotel Balestri for 7 nights in early October. It is a great location for seeing most of Florence on foot. The room was quiet, with the windows closed, even though there was an active construction site next door. We had a partial view of the Arno and Ponte Vecchio and if one leaned out a little,... More

This hotel is in an ideal location -- right on the Arno River just a few minutes' walk from the Uffizi Gallery, the Ponte Vecchio and other attractions. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff were very helpful. The room charge includes a great buffet breakfast in a lovely dining room. I hope to return to Florence soon... More

We stayed in Balestri in March and we checked in to a complete shocker of a room! It was nowhere near to what the marketing material was selling!!! We have booked through Trivago and at the point of booking were not advised this is a budget room, i.e. a box room. You literally could not move in it, just jump... More

Hotel Balestri is located near the Arno river about 2 blocks for Ponte Vecchio and in walking distance to many iconic attractions, piazzas and restaurants. If you are lucky you can have a partial river view from your room or an amazing view of the city from one of the penthouse suites. The Wi-Fi cost 6 Euros – I was... More

Classic and classy hotel with river views and first-rate location a couple of short blocks from the Uffizi Gallery and Galileo Museum, and a short walk from the Duomo. Generous buffet breakfast in pleasant dining room. Other public rooms are well appointed for relaxing with travel companions, reading a paper, etc. WiFi available for 6 euros for entire stay.
