Friends and I were advised to book this hotel by a UK local tourist agent. It has three stars in the Crest brochure 2009. I have been very fortunate to have traveled to many countries but never have I been in such a dirty, smelly one as the Unicorno in Florence. As soon as one enters, the very unpleasant smell... more

The location is great really. very central and very easy to find! The staff is nice and friendly. However the rooms smell really bad and you have to leave the windows open but again it can be quite noisy if you have the windows open. Room 205 smells OK but it is a bit dark. Room 305 smells very bad.... more

Bargian! Right amongst the action - this place was hard to find.... but SO central... And SO cheap! We paid $90 Euro per night for 2 ppl inc breakfast! Clean room, good breakfast.... Internet available downstairs (a bit slow). No bar or restaurant - but if you need somewhere affordable and clean to sleep this is PERFECT! more

This is a great tourist hotel, great rates (100 euro in Sept), large rooms with mini fridge, helpful friendly staff, great breakfast (eggs, ham, sausage, cereal, fruit, yogurt). The only downside is that the Elevator does not go down to the ground floor, so you must climb 1 flight of stairs to get to it. The Location is perfect less... more

Staff was friendly and helpful. The entire city of Florence has sewage problems. Our rooms had the smell in them. The showers were terrible because the water did not drain. After taking one shower the water remained in the bathroom. Sorry I had to spend 3 nights there. more

The Hotel Unicorno was a great base for a long weekend in Florence. It is close to all major tourist attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the location is fantastic, the rooms were lovely and food was good too. Before going I read that some guests had experienced problems with sewer smells but we did not have any problems... more

The Unicorno hotel in Florence is very close to the train station and very close to the center of Florence. The smell of sewer in the hotel never went away. The location was great and very convenient but only if you can handle the stench. more

We stayed at the Hotel Unicorno 4 nights in September 2005 and had the misfortune of being in room 101, a dark room overlooking the inside yard of the building. This is a bare bones property, without any amenities. The room contains a bed, one uncomfortable upright chair, no reading lights, no desk, no table. Only English speaking TV station... more
