My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in Villa Carlotta as part of our week in Tuscany. We loved the quiet location and enjoyed the 25 minute walk into the city centre. We had a special package which included sparkling wine, chocolates and a guide book. We chose the hotel because it had free parking and we were delighted... more

Absolutely our best hotel experience. Outstanding service, wonderful large breakfast and nice quiet yet central location! This hotel is a must for any visitor to Florence. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean and beautiful. Nice little market right around the corner too! There was six of us and our three rooms were top notch! We can't... more

My wife and I stayed here for our first trip to Italy. We booked the honeymoon package, and had champagne and chocolates waiting for us in the room. Our room was very big, with wood floors and a nice big window that let a nice breeze come into the room when opened. The bathroom was also large and had a... more

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed Villa Carlotta. The staff were so welcoming and helpful (sold stamps and made sure that mail was posted). Our room was immaculate and furnished with wonderful antiques. There is a nice patio with a fountain for "personal picnics"; there is a nicely appointed bar area. The staff will help you with access to the... more

My husband and I are in our forties and have recently returned from our holiday in Italy. Of course, like any other traveller, we used tripadvisor before we booked our hotel. It met our requirements and seemed reasonable. It was a good walk away from the main part of Florence, but we enjoyed the walk along a tree lined avenue.... more

On the plus side, the room we were in had a lovely view of the hills southwest of Florence. The distance from the city centre was not too bad, i.e. about a 20-30 minute walk. However, there is very little within the immediate environs of the hotel - you have to walk for at least 10-15 minutes to come across... more

Great hotle just outside the Roman Gate on the way to Piazza Micheangelo, adjacent to the Boboli Gardens. A short bus ride to the center of the old city and walking distance to the Piti Museum. Excellent staff and accomodations. more

This hotel is a lovely, older hotel, which is set far way from the "action" of Florence. It is feasible to walk to the more popular spots, but it's about a 20 minute walk at a fast pace. The hotel itself is set right across the street from gardens, and is in a peaceful and quiet location. I, for one,... more

This place is best described as a pleasant run upmarket B&B. It seems family run but the owners have a few properties, so it doesn’t quite have the personal touch. Then again, it is small and convenient, so it has a charm of its own. Breakfast was a bit poor and the wide variety of guests when we were there... more

I reserved a room at the Hotel Villa Carlotta without checking this website first. Once I had seen the various reviews posted, I regretted my reservation. Yet, having prepaid my first night, I really had no good alternative but to check in. I visited the Hotel Villa Carlota during the period between Christmas 2006 and 1 January 2007 with my... more
