Need a taxi to get from train station but only about a 15-20 minute walk to tourist area. Hotel up a slight Hill. Good value and nice starting point. Took train by ourselves to Pisa then returned and walked back to hotel with no luggage so its doable.

The hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the Ponte Veccio. Much preferred it to staying in the city centre as it was easy to walk in, quiet, felt very safe and the pool was great. Rooms I would say are equivalent to UK three star. Full of character and very clean. Just a bit tired in places. Staff were... More

Great hotel offering bed and breakfast only. It is about a 30 minute walk into the city which in the June weather is exhausting. Staff are very friendly and helpful especially Stephanie. Would recommend.

Four Stars are three too much, definetly not worth the money! Just a few points to mention, the prebooked parking was not available, only cold water in the bath, towels not changed, smelly room and a pretty weak breakfast! We got a 30 Euro discount in the end but this does not make our stay any better!

Dear Guest, - About the Parking: Our Parking is Free but subject to availability; is not possible to PREBOOK , so it is not true what you said about it. Usually there is space for eveybody also because not all the guest arrive by car (train ,flight), and sometimes people dont park well. - About the Towel: we change towel... More

Have just stayed two nights in this hotel. We had a room like most of our group in the annex rather than the main building. Our room had been two small rooms joined together with a sliding door so we had two bathrooms. However the annex was extremely dated with broken corroding mirrors in the corridor, in the room the... Having a x3 night x4 day stay here before we go to Siena, we chose this hotel because of the pool, and because it was close to the center. Having the luxury of x4 days to see Florence, having pool down time was appealing. Have to say this has exceeded our expectation, a traditional Italian building with personally, nicely decorated,... Like most hotels in Italy the Villa Carlotta is of some age however well maintained with good size rooms, clean and well prsented. Friendly staff who are willing to assist with any request. Breakfast of a good standard with limited hot selection however quite adequate. Overall a good hotel within easy walking distance to attractions. I am not sure what... More

I stayed for 3 nights at Villa Carlotta. It was an excellent choice of accommodation in Florence. The location in a quiet neighborhood makes it an excellent alternative to hotel closer to the city center. An easy walking of about 20 min brings you to all main tourist attractions. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Taking a Taxi to... More

Just returned from a weekend here. The hotel is lovely. It's five minutes walk from porta romana up a beautiful tree lined avenue away from the crowds of the city centre. Staff were always helpful. Breakfast was great and it was really quiet. We were allocated a ground floor room but they immediately changed us to a higher floor on... More

The staff are very friendly and helpful, pointing us in the direction of restaurants etc. The room was big, clean and tidy, the bed was huge and comfortable, it was hot most of the stay, and the air conditioning was not fantastic. The location is ok, but be prepared to walk or taxi to places, city centre was 30 minute... More
