I've stayed here on two different occasions, each time I've visited Florence. Once with my 22 year old (at the time) daughter and this time with my wife, cousin and two friends. It's a great boutique-type hotel just far enough away from the bustle of tourists, but close enough to walk from the train station and to all of the... more

Too far from any sights of note, although they'll try to tell you that you can make it to the Cathedral in ten mins on foot. It's twenty mins and I wouldn't advise walking it at night. There are no cafes or restaurants nearby, just residential streets and urban decay. We were given a ground floor room the 1st night,... more

Having previously been to Florence further off season (Nov or Feb), our usual hotels were way pricier. We hence decided to stay a little further out. When we got there we were taken to the new rooms across the road from the main block. We were really surprised, there were large and modern, with a sofa, contemporary furniture and a... more

We stayed at the Best Western Select in Florence from Sept. 28 thru Oct. 2nd. It was a nice hotel, but you had to take a bus to see any attractions in Florence. The back of the hotel was next to a school so it was very loud in the day, but very quiet at night. The room was clean... more

My family of 4 needed a hotel near the airport but still in Florence, as our flight left 7:15 a.m, but we still wanted to have a great last meal in Italy. The day before, the hotel let us drop off our main luggage and we went to Venice for 24 hours. Upon arriving back in Florence, we walked about... more

Large, clean rooms with rather large bathroom. A/C worked well and there was a little fridge, which was very useful. The bed felt bigger than typical European beds. The major problems were the noise on the street and the long walk from the main tourist sites. This is a great value if you don't mind the walk. more

Stayed at the Select from 5 - 9 June 2006 We took a taxi to the Select from the station for under € 8 and it took less than 10 minutes. Although the hotel was a little further than we would have liked it to be from the town centre, it turned out not to be as big a deal... more

A group of eight of us stayed at the Hotel Select. The rooms were fine but after a heavy rain there was an unbearable musty smell in all the main level rooms. The entire staff, except for Simone were very kind and helpful. Simone seriously needs an attitude adjustment if he is to continue working at the front desk. Florence... more

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Select for two nights in July 2005. The hotel was a 20 minute walk from the train station and about 30 minutes walk to the city center. The staff was helpful and professional. Our room (#215) was large and clean and one of the few rooms with a balcony. Because the hotel... more

Hotel has good room, staff is friendly. There is a supermarket and several restaurants close by. We ate at a Cuban restaurnat 3 blocks away and the food was good. Bus line 22 is 3 short blocks away. more
