Close to the train station Firenze SMN, and easy to find. Pleasant staff, also very helpful. Early evening refreshments and nibbles were very welcome. Breakfast was well laid out and seemed to have everything, including my gluten free option. My room was immaculate, comfortable, quiet and functional air conditioning, and the best sleep in two weeks of travelling around Italy.... More

I liked the room design and size, the location of the hotel was close to main attractions. Also, the breakfast is ok. I found it weird that i had to leave the room key at the reception before going to the city and pick up at the return

Great hotel in perfect location close to everything. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Great breakfast with choices and fabulous friendly staff. No complaints at all and had a great stay. Would stay again if in Florence. We stayed for two nights and found everything to be of satisfaction.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in June. The hotel is in a great location close to the train station and a short walk to areas of interest. There are some nice restaurants located nearby. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet in the courtyard is great - along with the complimentary drinks and... More

The hotel's biggest selling point is it's location. It's around the corner from the train station and an easy walk to the top historic attractions. Our room was tidy, had everything we needed but was a little on the small side. The breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from and was located in a pretty covered courtyard. The only downside... The hotel is located a short 5 to 7 minute walk from the train station and less than a 10 minute walk from the Duomo, which is very convenient. There is also a fluff and fold laundry a few doors down. We stayed in one of their quadruple rooms located on the ground floor. It had two floors, a double... More

Surprisingly good experience of staying in Hotel Alba. It is 7-10 min walk from the central train station, and 10 min walk to the Duomo. Very beatiful inside and breakfast area. The room has reasonable space and well equipped. The bathroom was clean and spacious compared to average italian hotels. The breakfast included many choices and was very delicious. Staff... More

The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the Firenze SMN station and around 10-15 minute walk to the city centre so it's pretty convenient! The service is pretty good, we were given a bottle of wine as it's our honeymoon. The hotel is a bit dated but the room is clean. The size of the room is big... More

Had a very pleasant 3 night stay here in early June. Room size was fine for my needs with enough space for a comfortable short stay. Room had a electronic safe and enough space for my clothes. The bathroom was fine with the shower enclosure being quite compact but still adequate. There was hardly any street noise but there was... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
