This hotel is perfectly situated between the Florence Santa Maria Novella train station and the historic city center. Everything is walkable. My favorite part about this place was the breakfast and breakfast room. The breakfast was plentiful with many options. Keep in mind it still is a typical Italian breakfast but as I've been traveling Italy for some time I... More

Selected this accommodation based on TA reviews and proximity to railway station. Very easy 3 minute walk from the rail station pulling a suitcase. Check in easy and friendly and lift to the floor our room was on. We were facing the main road but as another reviewer said, there was two lots of double glazing and traffic noise was... More

Located nearby SMNovella station, this hotel is on quite a busy street. I am glad I asked for a quiet room, got a one facing the courtyard just looking over the glass roof of breakfast area, with a balcony. The room is pretty big (huge considering Italian city hotels), with terracotta flooring and brick vaulted ceilings complemented by nice pieces... More

Pleasantly surprized by its great location - close to Firenze SMN train station (almost next door - 2 blocks away) and all the sights that I wanted to see were within walking distance. Great room and bathroom. No bidet; however, handheld shower head. Loved the towels - thick and large. Enjoyed the included breakfast.

I had single rooms which were very small but had anticipated that they would be. Spent 2 nights --- beginning of trip and end of trip. Very close to Santa Maria Novella. Rooms very quiet, clean and functional (had an electric outlet in the bathroom which a more expensive hotel in Florence did not). Front desk staff could not have... More

We stayed 5 nights about a week ago and had a very enjoyable stay in Florence. Staff were efficient, spoke good English but maintained Italian courtesies. Offered to solve a sleep problem ( not hotel related) with an upgrade. Good healthy breakfast ( with patisserie too) in glass roofed courtyard and nice Tuscan décor and homewares. Quiet room, we slept... More

I was very pleased with this hotel. Most hotels in italy are old, small and outdated, not this, the room was large, and the bathroom was pretty up to date. We had the room #1 on the first floor right off the breakfast court. it had a second floor loft (quadruple room) with a balcony looking to the court. Air... More

Verena, Jasmina, Stephanie, and one other fellow exceeded our expectations providing authentic Florentine style hospitality. The hotel's recent restoration complements the historic surroundings with modern comforts. Innovative breakfast buffet starts the day and the best of Florence is then easy walking or catch the hop on bus at the RR station 3 blocks away.

The Alba palace is only 50 metres from Novella Santa Maria square and another 50 from the Train station and airport shuttle bus stop. 10 minute walk from most of the other attractions Uffizi, Duomo etc. I had a single room small but comfortable. Kettle, safe and fridge. B&B only but a really good breakfast. The staff were excellent and... More

When I found the the Hotel was on the Via della Scala, I thought it would be noisy. But when we arrived, I realised that the road was considerably quieter than my last visit. Added to that, my room overlooking the street had two sets of double glazed windows; that's four sheets of glass between me and the outside world!... More
