The hotel is situated near termini.( train station) and also near down town. We never used any transportation , the hotel is walking distance on everywhere. The rooms are very confortable and the breakfast is delicious, so many options to eat.

We stayed at Alba Palace Hotel in early July 2015. In brief the hotel is a very short walk, 5 mins max from the main station and is situated just a very short walk from all the main attractions Florence has to offer. The room was lovely, clean, nicely presented, lovely air conditioning, as it was 38c the days we... More

Alba Palace is a small, lovely, clean hotel. It is only a 5 minute walk from then train station, perfect location. Friendly staff, breakfast is great too. Lots of fruit, juices, eggs, breads, such an spread. My teenagers love it. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a good, clean, homey, and reasonably priced hotel.

Our room overlooked an internal courtyard and was very peaceful. The room was comfortable, air conditioned with good free internet. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The location was within walking distance of Florence Centrali station. PROS Perfect location for sightseeing with an abundance of restaurants around the hotel. Refreshingly quiet at the end of a busy day. Close to station.... More

I liked the room we were in on the 1st floor, with a small terrace overlooking the breakfast room. I also found the bed and the pillows comfortable. All the sights that people go to see in Florence are very close. I loved the Santa Maria Novella Church it was a pleasant surprise, beautiful. The hotel is convenient for both... More

Close to the train station Firenze SMN, and easy to find. Pleasant staff, also very helpful. Early evening refreshments and nibbles were very welcome. Breakfast was well laid out and seemed to have everything, including my gluten free option. My room was immaculate, comfortable, quiet and functional air conditioning, and the best sleep in two weeks of travelling around Italy.... More

I liked the room design and size, the location of the hotel was close to main attractions. Also, the breakfast is ok. I found it weird that i had to leave the room key at the reception before going to the city and pick up at the return

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
