Everything is ok,means room is ok,breakfast is ok,and the room service is ok.But esspreso is terrific.24 hours desk staff is friendly. They provides bare essentials travelers need.I would give it credit for the location nearby the Firenze Santa Maria Novella. To sum up,it's a budget hotel.

The location is perfect! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms look nice and elegant. I would recommend that hotel for anyone who has high needs. Museums and sightseeings are just a 5min walk away. The streets are quiet during the night, so you can get a good rest. Loved it! I would definitely return

We stayed in the hotel for just one night. The room plus the facilities were good. The hotel is very close to the train station which was a blessing. Further hotel was well accessible to some good hotels including indian. Receptiknist were courteous and advised us the indian restaurants since my kid was desperate to have some biriyani. We enjoyed... More

Stayed at Hotel Roma for six nights with my family in June 2015. The hotel is great, rooms were clean and large, we had a view of the Piazza Santa Maria Novella outside, and room was very quiet. Rooms had dark blinds for blocking out the light. Breakfasts were outstanding with a large selection. Unfortunately the male receptionist's attitude on... More

Just returned from 4 nights. Excellent hote in a fantastic location just 10 mins from the train station. Staff were brilliant and so friendly..... Would have been a 5 if there was a kettle for tea and coffee in our room, but hey that's a minor thing!!....

We had an excellent three night stay at this charming hotel. Our quad room although lacking a bit in space, was newly renovated, had two washrooms and clean. Breakfast was OK & well organised. The view from the room (at the back) was not great but there was no noise to disturb us. The train & bus stations are within... More

Great location and lovely staff willing to help. We had 2 rooms as there are five of us and my husband and I were pleasantly surprised to get the newly renovated room. I fell in love with the room. Soooo beautifully done. I would definitely stay there again as long as I got the new rooms so request it as... More

Fantastic location in a Piazza with entertainment in the evening with people mulling around for hours. Lovely room and really friendly staff. Sadly, we never managed to be in the hotel at the time that the bar was open - they are definitely missing a trick here. We loved Florence and will definitely return!

This hotel is the place that you need to stay if ever in Florence. The location was perfect with all the main sights just minutes away. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was good with a great selection. But most of all the room was amazing, an excellent bathroom and very comfy beds. The room... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
