The hotel is in a great location right on Santa Maria Novella Square. The train station is a 5 minute walk away, the hop on hop off buses start around the corner. The foyer was lovely and had a nice little sitting area. Reception was ok - first day not so good, 2nd day was better. We had a room... More

We are a family of 5 (3 teenagers) and stayed Hotel Roma and it was a wonderful stay for us. We had 2 adjoining large beautiful rooms. The facility is first class, the Staff was very helpful & attentive. Location was close to train station & to sites - walked everywhere. Breakfast was a full meal. When we return to... More

Nice room, very comfortable with view on to Piazza, staff very helpful and nothing too much trouble. Perfect and I mean perfect location for exploring centro historico. Great breakfast buffet, will definitely come back!

Excellent location, close to the station and its link to the airport, easy access by foot to all the major sites in Firenze. Taxi station just in front of the hotel. Our room was very comfortable and quiet (but we had no view on the piazza). Staff was nice and helpful, with a special mention for the waiter at breakfast.

We walked to the Roma from the train station in under ten minutes. Reception was consistently welcoming. One staffmember remembered our room number for the four-day stay. Lovely reception rooms downstairs provide a place to put your feet up or meet friends. Our room had everything except a view, but was quietly situated at rear of hotel. Housekeeping staff were... Firenze an extremely nice city. The hotell Roma is a nice hotel in the old part of Firenze. The hotel standard was ok, room ok, with very nice people working there. The only negative thing is that the standard of the breakfast could been a little bit higher. The hotel had got 4 stars, but maybe that should only has... More

Good place to stay, very clean, reasonably priced and staff is mostly friendly. We had two double beds for 4 people - satisfactory sleeping and bathing conditions! Our room had a sky light and that's it - no windows!! Breakfast was included with our rate (~$650 for 3 nights). We had terrible experience with it though!! The food seemed very... More

This was my first trip to Florence, October 2015. I took the train from a small town in Tuscany and did not have reservations, they only had the one night available so I had to switch hotels. The room was very nice and the staff were pleasant. A bit high priced for one night but I had no alternative.

We have just spent 4 great nights at this hotel, where we found the staff very friendly and helpful the rooms a good size and very clean. Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
