Great location and lovely staff willing to help. We had 2 rooms as there are five of us and my husband and I were pleasantly surprised to get the newly renovated room. I fell in love with the room. Soooo beautifully done. I would definitely stay there again as long as I got the new rooms so request it as... More

I just checked out of this hotel an hour ago! I had booked this based on trip advisors listings.I booked a short trip to Florence for 2 nights at hotel Roma with Three other girl friends. The location of the hotel was well suited which is why we opted for this however the rooms had very old and rustic furniture... More

Fantastic location in a Piazza with entertainment in the evening with people mulling around for hours. Lovely room and really friendly staff. Sadly, we never managed to be in the hotel at the time that the bar was open - they are definitely missing a trick here. We loved Florence and will definitely return!

This hotel is the place that you need to stay if ever in Florence. The location was perfect with all the main sights just minutes away. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was good with a great selection. But most of all the room was amazing, an excellent bathroom and very comfy beds. The room... More

We rolled up at theHotel Roma doorstep with our luggage feeling hopeful, of slightly desperate, since our pre-booked accommodation had so badly let us down. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful, and offered us a room rate that was cery acceptable and included breakfast. The room was well equipped, with good block-out linds, and all areas were clean and... More

We stayed the first night on the second floor in an non-renovated room; noisy, icky bedding, yellowed wallpaper. We moved the second night to a renovated room on the fourth floor- much better, great space, big bathroom with a poorly designed shower that leaked everywhere because it did not close properly. Breakfast was good and more than adequate, with pleasant... More

Great position, nice rooms, staff were OK but I would not stay there ever again. The WiFi has not worked properly for months but they just keep selling it to business men anyway. And then tell you that it just stopped 2 days ago and it will be fixed soon The breakfast was very poor, with old and burst tomatoes... More

I am very disappointed with this hotel. The 4 stars rating in this hotel doesn't do justice. We got to the hotel and our room is not ready yet so we have to wait another hour for it. The room is beautiful ! It has a modern feeling and very clean. My family and I got 2 queen beds. The... More

In the heart of the magnificent town of Florence ... nothing is too much for the staff , breakfast is 1st class . & a complimentary bottle of wine on checking out ! I left the key in the room and hey presto it was " found"

Location of hotel made us comfortable to walk around to explore the town and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. We had a pleasant stay. One must bear in mind that for the room with a view hotel charges extra.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
