The only good thing about it is the location but u'll find thousands of other hotels in the same area,,,we are here in Florence for 1 day & most of the day is ruined because there is no water as they have a technical problem in the engine or what so ever,we can't take a shower after a long day... Good hotel and location. 5mins away from railway station and buses. Small place but clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. Very close to places of interest and market and hard rock cafe. Had a wonderful time

Hotel Machiavelli Palace is not a palace! It was not the worst place we have ever stayed but definitely not even close to the best. It was adequate. the room was old but clean. The bathroom was nice. The breakfast was continental style. This is not a 5star hotel. The prices are not for a 5 star hotel. You can't... More

A good mixture of Americans and Europeans. Delicious breakfast. We had a triple room that had plenty of space for all of us. All the professionals spoke English. Convenient location near San Lorenzo. Felt safe at all times.

I can't believe the review I have just read. We stayed last week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was a good size and air conditioned, the en suite very clean, the housekeeping staff very efficient. I found the staff on reception very helpful - they researched train times etc for us when needed, and all spoke good English.... More

Great location , 5 minute walk to most major venues. Staff friendly, helpful and polite. Breakfast was very good. Entrance and reception were small but once past this area hotel opened up. Would stay again.

The service was absolutely non-existent and the front desk day managers were abrupt, unaccommodating and rude. The room was charged at 170 Euros a night (single occupancy) and while we were checking in a woman alone arrived by taxi and got a room for 80 Euros a night, including breakfast. The included breakfast was nothing special and beyond ordinary. In... More

Hard bed, cramped bathroom, elevator wasn't always working well, tired furnishings..... Hard to find by car, but once you do, you can unload in front of the hotel and they have someone come park it for you. No concierge on site but the staff tried to help answer questions. However, good location to leather market and hop on hop off... More

The Hotel location is great its within walking distance from the train station and major attractions. The room was very clean and beds as well. We stayed for 4 days but by the end of the second the day the hated out beds. They were hard and not comfortable to sleep in. Other than that the hotel is good and... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
