For a four night stay at Hotel Macchiavelli Palace, it was amazing to have not only biscotti and a bottle of red wine included, but also a walking tour of Central Florence (priceless in my book). The hotel is centrally located and has very kind of staff. The room was also quite comfortable, especially considering the price. Would stay here... More

We were only here for 1 night. Considering what we paid and the location, that gets me to bump it from 3 to 4. I don't mind describing a bedroom as charming, but bathrooms are a different story. Good water pressure, but inconsistent temperature (my 10 year old learned what it's like for water to snap between freezing and burning,... More

We stayed for three nights. Hotel's central location is the only reason to stay here. The accommodations were marginal at best. There is no air conditioning - I don't see how you could stay there during a hot summer night (lucky for us the weather was cool). Because there's no air conditioning, you have to open your window & listen... More

The service was excellent, the room was pretty. The location between central-station and dome was perfect. Only the water pipes were to noisy, The room was quite big enough for the three of us. We were happy that everyone spoke Englisch, because our Italian is so poor :-)

This was a second return to this property mainly because of its exceptional location to the train station, the central market and the historical centre of the city. Room is comfortable and the views of the city street a bonus. Complimentary buffet breakfast was excellent. The WiFi is hit and miss but the staff are courteous and helpful. It's location... More

Just had 4 nights at this hotel with my family. It is conveniently situated just 5 minutes walk from the train station (from where we easily travelled to Pisa for a half day and Venice for a whole day). The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was sometimes a little cramped depending... More

A good value hotel within 10 minutes of the Dome. Excellent staff, with good English. Rooms were generous size & clean. Nice touchs with complimentary biscuits & wine. Good buffet breakfast. The room was a bit noisy on Saturday night as we were on the road side.

Quaint hotel but quite old. Rooms comfortable, bathroom very small. Close to the train station and close to San Lorenzo markets and other sights. Breakfast was good with both cold and hot selections. Coffee made to your taste by the barista. Location makes this hotel god place to stay. If you prefer more modern or spacious accommodation this is not... More

Just what we needed, welcoming drinks and sweets--a delightful type biscotti--to eat, with a lot of miles behind us we stopped 4 nights at the Machiavelli Palace and now look back fondly to our stay. Great Breakfasts were had. The room we had is actually 2 rooms plus the bath, so there are 2 views through big windows, one of... More

I have just looked at this hotels advertisement and photos on line - they bare little resemblance to the actuality. Yes, it is a short work from the train terminus, but the front door is about a meter and a half wide, and if you are not careful, you could easily miss it. Yes, they had a TV in my... More
