The hotel was nice and cozy and the staff was really nice and helpful. We had a room at the 5th floor, wifi was still working there. The breakfast ist a nice selection of italian specialities. The best thing is that the Machiavelli Palace is very close to the center. you just have to walk about 5 minutes and you're... More

The hotel is characterful and ideally situated for the station and exploring the city . We felt the room was clean and well appointed . The reception staff were very helpful and knowledgeable , they really made us feel at home during our stay . The breakfast was of good quality and again the staff here were very helpful and... More

For the price maybe its ok. Wifi is very bad, our toilet had a lot of issues, you can hear everything from the other rooms. The location is good. The breakfast is ok too (at sundays in the summer you probably have to wait for a table). Nothing more to say.

We stayed three nights here and had a very pleasant stay. Apparently it's an old nunnery and there are still evidence of this with the frescos and high wooden beamed ceilings. Check in was smooth and the room was clean and fresh. Very close to the train station and just a 15 min stroll to the main square and El... More

The hotel is ok, in great location but the rooms are very noisy. Sometimes I felt like there were no walls at all (I heard people talking, showering, opening the closet, flushing the toilet, etc.). So light sleepers beware.

On arrival we were met by a lovely dark haired lady she was the only thing that was good about our stay at the Machiavelli Palace the room had dirty décor, the air con unit was hanging of the wall back mould to bathroom and room doors both loose and coming off. The bed only had one pillow per person... More

Oh Dear, where to start! The hotel decor is very tired and carpets in the stairwells look dirty, with splashes and paint chipped away on the walls. The room - again decor very tired with dirty hand marks round the doors and NO coffee/tea making facilities. The bathroom - door again very dirty with dust upon dust settled on the... More

I chose this hotel because of its excellent location: it's in the heart of Florence, very close to the train station. The room was comfortable and clean, breakfast was ok, staff was helpful. Very good value to be in Florence.

Must begin by saying that the location of the hotel is FANTASTIC and close to the train station and a lot of places to see in Florence. That being said - we walked in to be greeted by a slightly cold reception. Wanted to store our luggage in the storage space as we decided to take a little walk around... More

I stayed just one night in the hotel. The room and the bathroom was clean. There was lady at the reception and looked very nervous. The location is very close to the train station and touristic places. You can go anywhere on foot. the entrance is so small that you can easily skip it. Breakfast could be better but it... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections.
