The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk to the train station. It is less than a 30 minute walk to all other Florence must-sees; including the incredible shopping. The included breakfast is quite varied from scrambled eggs to cereal to the traditional Itailian breakfast. The room is clean, not super large, but plenty of room. The bathroom is... More

Stayed here two nights in October of 2015. We chose this hotel since Best Western is a good name and the proximity to the train station. But besides the beds and the location, the rest was just average. Breakfast we had was ok. We would have liked if the Air conditioning worked but they said summer was over, which it... More

Just 250 metres from the train station- ideal. Can be difficult with lots of luggage as narrow and uneven pavements. Close to the Santa Maria Novella church. We went in January, expecting cold weather but it was mild and the hotel very hot. Hence we had our heating turned off and slept with the window open. Got bitten several times... More

I've been travelling to Florence for over twenty years and have often stayed at the Adriatico. The position is very good, close to the station and a pleasant stroll along the river to the Ponte Vecchio. The rooms and bathrooms are extremely clean and comfortable with good quality bed linen, the staff very helpful. Price/ Quality ratio pretty good (... More

The hotel is on a quiet street, it was close to the train station and wasnt too bad to walk around the city to see David, Uffizi Gallery, Duomo and many other places. The room was clean and functional, the staff was nice. Good value.

A very good hotel exactly in the city center. Very next to the central station. High quality-standard room and well trained staff. Good breakfast and good information had at the reception. Not a great view room, but I would go back in case in Florence again.

This hotel was clean. I stayed there for two nights and it was really good. The location of this hotel help you to achieve everywhere without the car. They did exactly what i ask for while i did my pre booking. Also, as a money wise you can save some money while having 4 stars services.

Very easy to get to from the train station...10 minutes to walk. The hotel sits in a dirty and dubious area but we did not have any problems. We did not like the breakfast and the bed was uncomfortable. Staff were friendly. Scott

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
