I have spent two nights there with my daughter from Jan 19-21. As reviewed by others, hotel is in a good location about 5 minutes away from central station. Bus terminal where you can take bus to outlet, The Mall, is only 2 minutes walk from hotel. Hotel is actually on the quiet side of a busy street. It's a... More

Dear Guest, thanks for the nice comment. I'm sorry for your first night problems, we try to do the best to give clients the best accommodation, but probably the room you booked was a standard room and the rooms overlooking the garden can be "balcony" or "superior". This can help you in the future if you will come back to... More

For a 4 day sightseeing stay in Florence, we found the hotel well located and could get to everything we wanted to see within a 20 minute walk and for further afield, the train station is 5 minutes walk away. Room was well fitted and meticulously presented but suffered from the occasional plumbing/lift noise - nothing to keep you awake... More

There’s been some effort to make this hotel attractive for families, but it’s more suited to, and staffed for, the business traveller – at least by my observation. The location is great (as many in Florence are), the price right too, we thought, for the extra ‘specialness’ of their Family of four ‘package’ (249 Euro/night). It’s comfortable in that cheapish... My husband and I spent almost two weeks in this hotel over Christmas. It was a great place to stay. Very clean and comfortable bed with a window over the courtyard so it was quiet. The breakfast was tasty and the staff remembered us and made sure to have my decaf coffee ready. I would recommend this hotel for those... More

The hotel was clean and has a bit of B&B feel and the staff were professional. That's about all the compliments I have. I only had single room but the bed was not comfortable and the room was on a side street that was very noisy. In addition, the locks on the room doors give a loud buzzing sound when... More

Dear Guest, I'm sorry your experience in our hotel was not so "good". You were given a single room as this was what your agent booked in our hotel for you, and we respected what was requested. Regarding the other things as the bed or the room facing this could be easily resolved by informing us and we could change... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
