I spent three nights here for business/leisure. The hotel is a good 3* / barely decent 4*. It does have nice things such as the terrasse restaurant, a small outdoor whirlpool (a gadget if you ask me, never used it, never saw anybody use it). My room smelled of mildew and had oldish carpet and furniture. Location was great for... more
As part of our "Italy by train" holiday we stayed at the Hotel Rivoli for our 2days in Florence. The hotel was within walking distance (Even with suitcases) from the Station, and close to the city centre. Our room was delightful with a terrace overlooking the courtyard, the staff were very frendly and helpful and the food extremely good. We... more
We love Florence and we love the Hotel Rivoli. The rooms are comfortable , clean and quiet and the staff treats us like family. The buffet breakfast was nourishing and delicious in their new restaurant. We also eat dinner in one of the courtyards of the Hotel. The food was excellent and beautifully served. The planting at the Hotel Rivoli... more
This hotel is a hidden gem. It is 4 star but sits between a lot of 2 and 3 star Train station hotels, one block from Florence Train Station. The front of the Hotel looks common----but inside it is not. The building was a former Monestary and the public rooms carry this elegently. The "sitting" room (huge) reminded me of... more
My husband and I just returned from Italy where we spent 6 nights at the Hotel Rivoli in Florence. Our room was as nice as any we have stayed in anywhere and we have traveled a great deal. The room was large with a window overlooking a lovely courtyard, very quiet and serene. And the bathroom--what a surprise to find... more
We stayed at the Hotel Rivoli for 3 nights in Florence in May 2009. I loved Hotel Rivoli they were very accomadating in every way. One of the female managers....I believe her name was Francesca? She went above and beyond to make sure we had things we needed. They let us extend our stay at the discounted rate we originally... more
We have stayed in Florence many times, but this time chose to go with this hotel. The staff are very attentive and the hotel is fine if you do not have children. We got an excellent rate (140 euros) for a quad room (no. 504) and were happy at first. But there was noise from the bar next door, keeping... more
Excellent room overlooking the green courtyard including a wonderful whirlpool (great after a day out), very comfortable bed, the best possible location 100 meters from SITA bus station (e.g. bus to Firenze Airport or Siena), 200 meters from rail station (e.g. train to Pisa Airport or Pisa) and 200 meters the opposite direction to the historic centre. Still the rooms... more
we greatly enjoyed our stay at hotel rivoli - splendid staff and surroundings. we loved the garden courtyard (with jacuzzi) - the peace and quiet among the busy throngs of Florence. best of all, we loved the Ristorante Benedicta with Luciano Ioppoli, the manager, dealing with our every whim. His chef and staff were great and helped us to understand... more
