Comfy bed. Nice breakfast. Meats, cheese, eggs, fruits, pastries, cereals, juice, and milk. The walls are very thin though so bring some earplugs. Seriously, very thin. But it's close to everything and we did enjoy our stay there. The room service was weak though. Just go to a restaurant instead.

Beautiful converted convent. With central pool ,gardens and fountain.we had a split level room with beautiful garden view. Large old windows open to hear the church bells and the tinkling of the fountain. Rooms were clean and pleasant. Staff was friendly and helpful. Walking distance to all the florence hot spots

We stayed in the Croce di Malta for 4 nights while in Florence. It was about a 7 minute walk from the train station and walking distance to all of the main attractions in Florence. The room was a little dated but we had a fantastic view of the city. Even better was the view from the roof top bar!... More

I can't fault this hotel, excellent location and the rooftop bar was something else! Staff all friendly and helpful, even down to the cleaning lady showing me how to turn on the shower! Didn't venture to the pool so can't comment on that. Would definitely go back

We stayed at the Croce di Malta Hotel for 1 week at the end of August. Its in a great location within a 5-10 minute walk to most of the city sites and about another 10-15 minute walk if you want to go across the River Arno. The hotel itself is of a traditional Tuscan style. There is an abundance... More

We spent three nights here with a tour of Tuscany organised by Voyages Jules Verne. It certainly did not live up to the quality of hotels we have been used to on their trips. The building is care-worn and tired looking. The air-conditioning seems only able to switch itself off--not good when you are on the top floor. The restaurant... More

Right from the minute we walked in we were treated amazing. If we needed anything it was taken care of within minutes. Ie missing luggage racks in the room. Told the front desk as we just ran across the street to grab a few beer came back and the racks were already in our room. We were treated to a... More

This hotel has a fantastic location in central Florence, 10 minutes away from Ponte Vecchio and Uffizzi, 15 from the Acaddemia and is just off the corner of Nuova. The room was comfortable with the bedroom on a mezzanine and two bathrooms, one upstairs and one down. Could have done with a seating group on the mezzanine, there was loads... More

We were sent to this hotel, by a hotel where we pre-booked a room that was not available. The beds were extremely narrow (smaller than a twin bed.) The balcony contained dirty laundry from a previous guest. There were no towels in the room. The AC was on all night and the temperature in the room did not drop more... More

Dear Sir, we are sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay in our hotel and we are surprised about your complains, we maybe think there was a mistake in the room assignement due to the last minute reservation, we are very sorry about that because if you told at the desk we could have changed the room at the same moment.... Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
