The Hotel is not far from the city centre, and it's 1 minute away from the tram direct to the train station - which is very convenient. But unfortunately the breakfast service was in shambles both mornings. There was never enough food, plates or glasses. I had to ask one of the servers 3 times for hot water. The front... More

Hotel pictures suggest 2 rooms for a family room. In reality 4 beds are placed in a standard room (sofabed + extrabed). Apparently business travellers do not require privacy when travelling with their family. Not really funny. The airco is not up to its job.

We stayed here for a couple of nights for a sightseeing trip at the beginning of August. The hotel has a lovely reception area. It was quite dark and cool, which was pleasant after the hike from the station (only about 15 minutes, but it was very warm and sticky). The reception staff were professional and welcoming. The location of... More

We arrived to find that parking was full so the car was taken to another car park - 23 Euros a day was very expensive. Upon check in - we we're not greeted and the receptionist decided to answer a mobile phone which came across as rude. There was also no help with our luggage. staff seemed disinterested in their... We recently stayed at the Starhotels Michelangelo while we were in Florence. We traveled from Rome and went on to Venice via the high speed trains and the Michelangelo is very convenient to the rail station. We enjoyed the walk along the River Arno to see the sites in the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the... More

My husband and two teens stayed here 3 nights as part of a Globus tour package. This was a very nice option in Florence; maybe our favorite of the trip. We were able to get two adjoining rooms, which was nice. The rooms were very modern and sleek, but on the small side, which was fine. There were many things within... More

Of the four hotels that Railbookers arranged for my family and me during our recent rail travel in Italy, this one was our least favorite. To be fair, we were probably spoiled by the smaller boutique hotels during our travels. This hotel was definitely the most “American,” which is not necessarily a good thing when you’re going for the Italian... More

During our last trip to Florence we booked our rooms at the Michelangelo. It is more in the category of a corporate hotel and therefore does have that feel to it. Personally I prefer boutique hotels but this option was given to us as we were part of a group. The hotel is centrally located about 20min walking from the... More
