Our trip to Italy this year was for a friend’s 50th birthday. We love to fly into Europe and walk around the area where we want to stay and just "find" a great hotel to spend a few days! European hotel rooms are usually much smaller than US hotels. This hotel is one of the best we have ever stayed,... More

Art Atelier is a wonderful find amongst the hotel choked streets of central Florence. The property is family owned and staffed. The deceptively modest façade opens into a warm and unique registration area. The rooms are all custom and different, some with balconies and other amenities. The real treasure is the staff. We dealt with three people, one of which... More

During a weekend visit in Italy we decided to book at the Hotel art atelier in Firenze and we didn't regret it.The hotel is situated in a quiet, narrow street in the heart of the city a few passes away from all major attractions so as for the location is highly suggested. It is a small hotel with rooms in... More

We stayed in this hotel 3 nights last February and everything went perfect! Big and comfortable family room, they put a cot for our baby, staff is very helpful and friendly. The only thing I would suggest them to improve would be the breakfast.

Honestly I do not understand all the good reviews this Hotel have gathered in the last couple of years. I stayed 3 nights in February during one of my usual business trip to Florence. At my arrival the night porter was quite unprofessional, insisting that I had stayed there before and calling my room at midnight because he could not... More

This hotel is beautiful and it was managed so very well. It is located in an area where you are within walking distance of so much of what the city has to offer. The San Lorenzo Market is very close as well as the Dome and the Cathedral. The room was magnificent, decorated beyond belief and very large especially compared... More

My husband and I stayed in Art Atelier for a week. We were very happy with this choice. Location is great, the rooms and bathrooms were not small by European standards and very tastefully decorated. Plus it was clean and everything was functioning properly. The staff was wonderful, we felt very welcomed. Many thanks to Gabrielle, Federica and Armando. We... More

Very well located, this hotel makes extra effort. The style of the hotel reminded me of many of the landmarks we all go to Florence to see -- white walls with grey stone arches over the doors, marble everywhere, and my spacious solo room was even painted with a lovely mural. The breakfast buffet had plenty of choices and even... More

Welcoming and tasteful design. Staff was very helpful and made you feel at home, especially front desk manager whose name is Naiq. Room was very clean, good space, hardwood floor and clean modern bathroom. The hotel I found out was completed in December which gave it a new feeling which made the 2 night stay very comfortable. It is also... More

We had a long weekend in Florence for our anniversary - and got confused by all the hotels available. Finally chose Art Artelier. It was brilliant - close to the station but far enough away to be quiet and only a few minutes walk from the Duomo. It was clean, well decorated and nice breakfast with tea and coffee making... Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
