A very reasonably priced small hotel located on a quiet side street within walking distance of the Duomo. The lovely continental breakfast in the pretty dining alcove is worth the surchage. Seek out Roberto who is a font of knowledge about the ins and outs of Florence sightseeing.

I spent four nights at this quiet, well-situated hotel and would book it again in an instant. The price/value was excellent and I felt comfortable, safe, and well taken care of. The staff spoke excellent English and offered local tips on things to see and do. I loved the access to the Doumo – when you're close to that you're... More

My sister and I stayed here based on a review in Froder's travel book. It was a darling hotel with an extremely accomodating staff. The rooms were very nice and cold! In August, Italy sun is extremely hot and it was very refreshing to sleep in a cool room. The breakfast served was excellent. To American standards, the location may... More

Stayed here for two nights in July 2011. Small, unusual hotel in central location. A converted convent, we stayed in room 29 which still had some of the frescoes from the original chapel on the wall. Bathrooms a little on the small side and the shower wasn't great, but it is an old building. Paid 125e a night for a... More

This hotel has obviously seen better days. Our room was old and gross. You had to walk up two flights of stairs to get to the lobby and ring the doorbell. They should meet you at the real door and help you with your baggage. The Breakfast was mediocre. The people at the front desk were nice, but I wouldn't... More

A group of 9 friends went to Italy. We all couldn't have been more happy with the hotel. We had 4 double rooms and 1 single. The hotel is an old convent, so every room was different and on 3 different levels All the rooms are furnished differently, and all very unique. Some rooms have courtyards, etc. All the desk... We booked the hotel several months ahead of time. When we arrived, we were told we would be staying in an older room for 1 night and then they would move us into a newer room for the next 4. We felt a little used since this was to accomodate a better booking for them. The first room was a... More

This was our first trip to Italy and to travel abroad with our 3 college and teen-aged kids. Our friends who had visited Italy claimed Florence as their favorite, but we had no good hotel recommendations. We turned to Trip Advisor. Based on those reviews, we booked the Hotel Morandi Alla Crocetta, which is two - three blocks from the... More

Our first time in Florence, and we were apprehensive about our accommodation choice. We need not have been, as this hotel was perfect for our four days here. Small, oozing with history, subtle yet efficient service, the Morandi Alla Crocetta was quiet and well located a ten minutes walk northeast of the Duomo and close to many good restaurants. Our... I stayed at the Morandi Alla Crocetta on my first trip to Italy in 1996 and have wanted to go back ever since. I finally returned for 3 nights in June 2011 and loved it even more the second time. We had a large room on the ground floor with a private courtyard and, by Italian standards, a very large... More
