The night we arrived, we were greeted by Frank, who was very helpful and friendly, Unfortunately, that was the only time we saw him. While the rooms were okay, we found the manager Paolo and the rest of his staff to be incredibly rude (Paolo), offensive (Paolo), and inefficient. The first morning, we were unable to open the safe in... More

There was an admin blunder with lastminute.com They took our payment and gave us a booking reference but when we arrived the hotel was full and they couldnt accomodate us. Manager arranged hotel round the corner and sorted out all payment. Very happy with Customer service in the end. ( oh, and Hotel morandi looked beautiful but we didnt end... More

In terms of service and size, this has the feel of a boutique hotel. The staff at Hotel Morandi is exceptional. We staggered in after driving round and round trying to find the place, and Rolando made us feel welcome and cared for. Others went out of their way to help us throughout our stay. Unfortunately, our rooms were not... More

I have asked for reservation from 2 months earlier and got my confirmation in a few seconds. However, after 2 months later and before 2 days of the conference I got a letter from the hotel saying that they have re-allocated me. They told me they just realized it while they were checking the reservations! Are they kidding me? A... More

We took a early morning train from Venice and dropped by Milan for the Duomo Church and by the time we took a late afternoon train from Milan to Florence, It was raining and we were very tired... We are very suprised to receive a huge warm welcome from the reception (Frank :) ), I could say it was the... More

Spent three nights in this hotel. The room was clean and comfotable, albeit small. The staff was very helpful in selecting restaurants and securing tickets. The location was within easy walking distance to several museums and attractions. Breakfast was very good. This was a good bargain and I would book it again.

This is a very small hotel a few flocks from Il Duomo. It feels like staying in a private home where the hosts provide great service with attention to detail. The staff is friendly and efficient, the rooms very comfortable, furnished with antiques. This was our third time in Florence, and we would definitely stay in this hotel if we... More

We returned to Hotel Morandi, having had a very nice stay in 2001. Much of that stay was made special by recommendations made at the time by Mauricio, one of the concierges. I had read online in recent reviews that there was loud construction next door, so we e-mailed before making the reservation, asking about the construction next door, and... More

Slightly hidden away but still great location for all the sites, this hotel is a true gem. Lovely rooms and facilities that still keep the old charm, the courtyard rooms are especially good. Excellent service also from the front desk, helping out with trip and eating requests, nothing was too difficult. Will be going back.

Stayed at the Morandi for four nights in May 09. We had a triple room with a private terrace which was lovely with plants and a small table and chairs. The room had a fireplace, old prints and paintings, wood beams in the ceiling, a double door, very charming. The breafast room was small and elegant and the breakfast was... More
