Stayed at the Morandi for four nights in May 09. We had a triple room with a private terrace which was lovely with plants and a small table and chairs. The room had a fireplace, old prints and paintings, wood beams in the ceiling, a double door, very charming. The breafast room was small and elegant and the breakfast was... more

From the moment we booked the Hotel Morandi via a phone call to Paolo, our experience here was terrific. The very large room opened onto a small private garden, and was steps from the charming breakfast room. The last morning, when we had a wait for a table, staff kindly brought the same lovely breakfast to our room. And every... more

Lovely hotel walking distance to everything in Florence. However, considering the cost of the rooms we were very unhappy to be awakened at 7am every morning with the construction noise from the adjacent building. When we complained to the staff they said they would ask the workers to stop. That never happened. The noise was so loud we had to... more

Previous reviews seem to hit the highs and lows of this place. While not scenic in location, the hotel is a value and is 5 minutes to the Academia (David) and the Duomo. that, in and of itself makes this a very good hotel at which to stay. Staff were hit and miss. Ricardo was a great source of information... more

Very nice place to stay that's close, but not too close to Duomo. Fairly quiet side street about 5-10 minute walk to Duomo. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Internet access available. Beds comfortable. Nice amenities. Very helpful staff. Only negative was that the air conditioning was not yet turned on. The night air was cool enough, but there was no... more

We stayed here in March 2008 for 4 nights, rooms 21 & 22. We had booked a triple room but arrived the first night to find the hotel full and our room "upgraded" to two rooms next door to each other, "at no additional charge". This was not what I expected as our son was traveling with us and I... more

Location is very good for walking to all of Florence's main landmarks. Very non descript entrance located on a quiet street. You have to carry your luggage and yourself up to the second floor to enter hotel. The staff is very nice. They will help with luggage if asked. Our first room, located near the front entrance, was small and... more

My wife and I stayed 7 nights in October. Spacious room with small balcony right off lobby. Absolutely charming. Perfectly clean. Well decorated. Nearly all staff have excellent English skills. Hotel is on a quiet one-way street very near Plaza Anunciata. One further block from Plaza San Marcos and Galleria Accademia. A short walk to the Duomo and well within... more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights the last week of September and loved it. It was clean, quiet and in a section of Florence that is both convenient to the Duomo but away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff was very helpful in obtaining restaurant reservations and making suggestions as to good places to... more

This is a charming hotel located about 10 minutes walking from the Duomo. It is a small old world hotel which brings represents the elegance of Italy. Central to all locations in Florence. more
