Lovely hotel with a kind, caring, generous staff that treated us like family. We loved the breakfast room and were attended by uniformed waiters. Our room was comfortable and quiet even though the window looked out on the street. The location was perfect--away from the crush of the tour groups, but close to the sights. Don't be fooled by the... More

We wished we could have stayed longer and will certainly stay again. The Hotel Morandi is packed full of charm, the ideal base from which to explore Florence and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The linen crisp. The breakfast, continental style, was perfect. Thank you so much for a memorable stay.

This is a really charming hotel and feels much more luxurious than a 3 star. Rooms have wooden shutters, antiques and crisp cotton sheets. Everything works and the wifi is free. I didn't have breakfast (which is extra) as I rather greedily wanted to eat pastries at Robiglio nearby.. but a pot of hot coffee arrived every morning exactly 3... More

Although it's nestled away on a short street named "Via Laura", this hotel is absolutely a gem. My friend had stayed here a couple of times in the past, but September's visit was my first. The accommodations are lovely -- this place served as a convent for many years before becoming a hotel over 100 years ago. The staff was... More

A little off the beaten path but very close to the Duomo. Clean, spacious room with a very professional, attentive staff. This is a great value in a unique setting. The hotel overall was clean and tidy. Could use a good dusting in rooms and throughout.

We stayed here for several nights in late October and it was wonderful. The staff was great and very helpful with what and how to do Florence. We had a great room overlooking the courtyard. Just a very nice facility. It was close to all the sights and we were able to easily walk everywhere. Will stay there again in... More

My wife and I spent 3 nights at this hotel, which we chose based on online reviews. It's a little bit out of the way and some may not like that the "lobby" is on the second floor with no elevator. Still, it is only a 5-10 minute walk to the Duomo/city center. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The... More

Not only is this a beautifully decorated, conveniently situated, clean, quiet, and well-appointed hotel, the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Because of the recent Air France strike, we were 'stranded' in Florence (not complaining!). The staff spent considerable time helping us get through to the airline to reschedule (which took hours!), and then called... More

Summary: This was a pleasant place to stay for the budgeted rate. Room was reasonably sized, and had good appointments, but not luxurious by any means. Staffing was probably the highlight. Seemed to be consistently available contact and were accommodating of requests. Travelers should note that this is slightly off the beaten tourist path (see below), but is within walking... More
