The staff here is excellent, very friendly and welcoming! Perfect location that is within walking distance to everything, even the train station, although I would recommend taking the short cab ride if you have heavy luggage. Rooms are bright and clean. Free wi-fi for Rick Steves readers and a minimal charge if not. There are also 2 computers with internet... More

Hotel Maxim was no thrills, but for the price and location, you really can't beat it. The reception staff was always pleasant and welcoming. The lobby had 2 computers w/ internet, which was great for researching aspects of our trip. The room we had (for 4, but we only had 3 staying) was spacious. The beds were not the most... More

Stayed October 13-17th. Fantastic location within very short walking distance to the Duomo , Uffizi, and Ponte Vecchio. Ida at the desk was super helpful and attentive to our needs, providing bus schedule info , directions, and reccomendations. Very typical of the Hotels/B&B's in the area. Includes a small but adequate breakfast of pastries, fruit and yogurt. Comfy Bed, TV... More

This is less of a hotel and more of B&B really although they do have a reception facility till 1am. We have booked a quad room meant for 4 people for just us 2 so cant complain on the space although I wonder what it would be like if 4 people actually stayed in the room, perhaps a little crowded.... I would definatley reccomend anyone to stay at Hotel Maxim! It is extremely good value for staying right in the center of Florence. It is clean, well run by helpful staff. A continental breakfast is also included in the price. Florence is full of fabulous shopping, so spend the money you save on finding that special leather item!! More

The location was excellent, the room clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast good. A room that faces onto the street can be noisy an interior room would be quieter. Very good value. More

This is a two-star hotel, so don't expect posh ... but our experience was great. Terrific location (in the heart of all the attractions, outstanding staff (very welcoming and extremely helpful), and well-kept rooms. And the hotel is filled with art ... in the rooms, in the hallways, in the breakfast room. We had a delightful time. We originally had... More

Upon entering the hotel from a busy street, more crowded with pedestrians than cars, we walked down a long hallway to a tiny elevator which barely fit two people and their luggage. The hotel is on the second floor of the building with a lovely but small lobby. Helpfulness of the desk staff varied. The room was so tiny that... More

We picked Hotel Maxim based on the reviews and we were really shocked when we arrived. Our room and bathroom were extremely small. The bathroom door did not open fully because it hit a piece of furniture and there was barely room for our two suitcases. The hotel is not all on one floor as one reviewer stated. We stayed... More

This hotel is in the ideal location for visiting all the tourist hotspots of Florence (situated between the Duomo and Uffizi Gallery). It was clean, comfortable but quite basic. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Plentiful continental breakfast served. All in all, very good value for money. More
