At first I was worried about this hotel, seemed too good to be true for the price and location, however for those on a budget and wanting to be in the centre of all that Florence has to offer, than this is the perfect place. Yes, our room was tiny, but really how long are you in your room for?... More

We stayed in a quad room for 1 night. Room included 1 queen sized bed and 2 single beds. Room had a tv, safe and desk with chair. Small but functional. Clean & quiet. Lobby was comfortable with couches and a table and chairs. 2 computers with internet. Guide books and books/magazines to read. Hotel check in was good, helpful... More

This location couldn’t be better. It’s half a block to the Duomo, easy walk to the Accademia and Ponte Vecchio. The room is a bit ordinary, but perfectly adequate. The hair dryer is from another century, so I’d recommend bringing your own. On our arrival we opened the window and heard a woman singing opera. Can’t guarantee that will happen... More

The location of this hotel is its big plus.Situated 75 mts from the Duomo on a main shopping street above shops.Character full building with good size modest rooms.Breakfast basic but very good.No tea facilities in rooms, small open bar at reception with honesty box.Centrally situated rooms are quiet however our first room was 301, next to 302 and 303 on... Florence can be such a feast for the senses and overwhelming when a visitor first comes to visit. Minutes from The Duomo, you are right in the middle of everything! We took a bus shuttle from the airport, then walked to the hotel. There is a lift, but only to the 3rd floor so ask for a room to fit... More

We could stay only one night, and surely not in their nicest room! But we were grateful to be able to stay, because it was impossible to find accomodation at that time of the year. We could never imagine that Florence would be that crowded. Breakfast was marvellous, we had never seen a pancake machine before! Our car was well... More

Location is key for this room. On the main street of Florence, 20 steps from Duomo. Came from Rome and walked 10 minutes from train station. Room was bigger than I would had thought. Nice flat screen tv with decent internet. Bathroom was old. Hotel closes at 1am, but they make accommodations for those staying out later. Breakfast was good... More

Good basic hotel with a big plus point: slap in the middle of Florence! Just meters away from the Duomo, just meters away from Palace Vecchio and about 5 minutes away from most museums if not less. Breakfast is a reasonable continental one. The parking arrangement is good, but not cheap. We stayed for 4 nights and never needed the... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
