Stayed 2 nights at the Grand Hotel Cavour and I am not disappointed! A very nice and beautiful hotel - perfect location, amazingly good breakfast buffé, perfect situation close to everything. Staff was very nice and spoke both english and french (was sceptical since I had read some -ve comments here on Tripadvisor). Service perfect. Strongly recommended - very good... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Grand Hotel Cavour just one night, The location was perfect (although a little hard to find) and centrally located to the Duomo, shopping and great restaurants. The hotel staff were polite and efficient. The room was clean, modern with a king size bed and good size. Bathroom was fine. Excellent breakfast. The adjoining... more

This hotel is located a few steps from the Bargello and Uffizi. Rooms are spacious enough given general standards for 4 star Italian establishments. They are simple but lovely with nice bathrooms. A/C is marginal. Public rooms are lovely with high ceilings and simple but tasteful decoration. Absolutely value for money however for a 4 star. more

This was our second trip to Florence - great city and amazing food. First the positive stuff... 1. The Hotel Cavour is central and located near the key sites. 2. The top floor has a nice open terrace with good views of the city. And now the negative... 1. The american sounding receptionist is unhelpful, defensive and borderline rude. 2.... more

Mum (60ish) and I thought the Grand Cavour was absolutely everything we wanted for our mini-break in Florence. Most importantly, the location is incredible. Short walking distance to all central Florentine sights. The hotel lobby is grand and puts in the mood for delving into Florentine history. The rooms are more plain, but well-appointed. Breakfast is a good buffet. There... more

I was originally booked to stay at the n4u Guesthouse a few doors down, but there was a problem with my room, so I was moved to the Grand Hotel Cavour. They put my husband and I in a room that was meant for only 1 person, the bed was barely big enough for two, and the pillows were flat... more

My husband and I took my mum for an Easter trip to Florence. The weather and sights were fantastic and I would recommend everyone to visit this wonderful city. We booked the Grand Hotel Cavour at the last minute (1am on the day of travel!!!) after extensive research on tripadvisor. Nearly all decent accommodation in Florence is expensive, and we... more

I stayed here two nights on a business trip and, warned by previous reviews on Trip Advisor, asked for a room on a floor well away from street level noise. Unfortunately my room was just below the breakfast room and I was awoken very early each morning with chairs being scraped across the floor above. The staff were also very... more

Just returned from Florence after a six day stay at this hotel. I recommend it for it's location. We walked to the sights, ate at the restaurants nearby and found them reasonable and pretty good. The front desk staff and others were professional , helpful and friendly. The room small but clean, warm and comfortable. They could use a shelf... more

Price was right, location to most museums was perfect. Most of the desl staff is a bit unwilling to extend any energy into engage with the customer. We stayed 4 nights, the night before we left was the worst I have ever expereinced. The hotel neglects to warn you that they share a courtyard with private apartments. It was a... more
