This hotel is brilliantly situated. It’s next door to the Bargello and 50m from the Duomo. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
Having said this, there are some truly dodgy smells lingering around every corner of this hotel. The lobby smells like wet dog and each floor has its own distinctive (dubious)...

I returned to this hotel for 3 nights at the end of January. The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom had completely insufficient lighting (same as the last room that I stayed in in 2010). It's absolutely impossible to put make up on with a mirror that has a frosted lit strip across the face area. I don't...

I took my mother and her sister here. They were both sharing a room and we booked twin beds. However, the room was made up as a double. I went down to the reception and told the receptionist. She told me that was impossible and would not accept what I was saying until I had checked the room again. So...

Nice hotel in the centre of Florence, we had a large room at the front of the hotel which was very noisy as the sound of scooters and pedestrians echoed through the narrow streets

For the dollar, this hotel was a great value - the rooms were small but clean and very nicely decorated, the beds comfy, the location perfect, and the staff helpful. There were two reasons I could not give it a "very good" however - the first is that the rooms were extremely hot. Like an oven, hot. And because of...

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights over the New Year holiday. The location of the hotel is excellent, the rooms were clean, bright and large. Hotel staff was very helpful and the off-season rate was excellent. I've stayed in a number of hotels in the city center and this has been the best experience yet.

This hotel has a fabulous location but that's all it has going for it. It smells like flatulence, the staff is incredibly rude (only rude staff we have encountered in 10 days in Italy), beds are horribly uncomfortable, rooms are very hot and stuffy and in the winter they will not turn on the AC. The breakfast is not worth...

The Grand Hotel Cavour is a service orientated property. A great location close to the museums and historical center of Florence. The employees at the front desk were very helpful with directions as well as delicious restaurant recommendations. The breakfast offered was a delicious buffet. A must is to go up to the roof terrace. What a view. You are...

My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel. I'll mention the positives first: central location(the biggest advantage), great view of Florence from rooftop and clean rooms. The negatives: the staff at the reception were unhelpful and overall somewhat rude which is the main reason for this poor rating. There are apparently exercise equipment but there is an extra charge...
