I was so sad to leave the beautiful massimo apartment after our stay! Perfectly positioned to be close enough to town and far enough away to get away from it, we enjoyed every minute. The hosts were perfect- providing us with breakfast snacks and dinner suggestions (we definitely recommend gustas) The only down side was the blasted mosquito who had... More

Once again, my stay at Il Carmine (Domus apartment) was a wonderful and memorable experience. I feel blessed and lucky to stay here whenever I visit Florence. Miraim, Emilio and Caterina are "family" and my heart feels "at home" when I am there. The garden is a magical and peaceful place to relax after a crazy busy day of being... More

Emilio and his family were fabulous hosts and the historic suite we stayed in was absolutely amazing. Our apartment was large and clean and filled with amazing antiques. The garden courtyard is available for all to enjoy. The welcome basket was overflowing with wonderful sweets and fruit and very nearby the apartment were local shops to purchase fresh bread and... We stayed here for 5 nights. Florence can be stressful but this relaxing place is across the river in oltrarno and we looked forward to going back to home base during the day. It is not far from the attractions and great restaurants. Very convenient to laundromat and supermarket. We saved some money by cooking dinners on a few nights.... More

I normally only post bad reviews, but this place really does deserve another 5 star review. It's really located on a quiet street just over the Arno and close to great restos, gelaterias, artisan workshops, Piazzo Santo Spirito, etc., but away from the centre by just a few minutes. It has a nice neighbourhood fell. The hosts are wonderful and... More

Staying on this side of the river provided us with a quiet oasis to which we could retreat from the hordes on the other side where the main sites are located. This was a very quiet neighbourhood and we ate locally. The apartment was fantastic. A small kitchen, large living area and large bedroom with a good size bathroom. Caterina... More

We like staying on the Oltrano side-less touristy, more local flavor. Been to Florence many times & this is our favorite so far. We stayed in Domus, a spacious 1 bed/1.5 bath with kitchenette & garden. A great place to relax after a day of site seeing. A plus is there are no steps to contend with. No car needed;... More

Look no further this is the place to make your Florence holiday perfect Beautiful clean accommodation is very important to us – it can ruin my holiday if not. These two apartments were very clean with good linen. The beds were made daily and clean towels left each day. A basket full of goodies was left in each apartment– a... More

We stayed in the apartment and loved it. While we were steps away from great food and all of the main attractions, we felt tucked away in our own private little corner when we were in the apartment. We used the small kitchen to prepare fresh pasta from a nearby shop one evening. There is a small, but clean and... More

My wife and I had the best experience of our 3 week trip when we stayed in the "Domus" apartment at the Residenza Il Carmine this Fall. We were warmly welcomed by a member of the owning family and received very useful advice on restaurants and services in Florence. The staff did everything they could to make our stay comfortable...
