This splendid residence is next door to the point zero of the Renaissance: Brancacci Chapel with its Masaccio. The garden is ideal for a group of families, the hosts are perfect. Other 'magical' places nearby: Panificio S.forno, Osteria Santo Spirito, Gelateria La Carraia.

Staying here was wonderful and peaceful. We had 2 apartments, Incenso and Oro, for 4 people. The place is located in the Oltrarno area of Florence. There are grocery stores, great restaurants, shopping, and enotecas within blocks. We walked everywhere, crossing the different bridges. The Accademia is just over 2 miles away. Each apartment has a sitting area, kitchenette, bedroom... More

I have been remiss in submitting my review as I stayed May 2014. My friend and I stayed a week in this wonderful little oasis! I would like to keep it all to myself. Just a 5, 10 or 15 minute walk to anywhere you want to go in the city, also it is away from the crowds. When we... More

My wife and I stayed in the Oro apartment for a week and it suited our needs perfectly. It's in a lovely non-touristy area of the city but it's only a few minutes walk across the Arno to the centre. there's a nice cafe for breakfast just round the corner as well.

Walking down the beautiful 14th century street to Il Carmine Firenze is as wonderful as staying there. The location is ideal: five minutes from the Ponte Vecchio, an ATM, and the best gelateria in Florence. We rented the larger apt and the smaller and both were charming and cozy. Miriam and Caterina were very kind and helpful. A short stroll... More

We stayed in one of the smaller garden apartments (Incenzo, I think). It was quite spacious and the photos do not do it justice -- it was so cozy and comfortable. We loved staying in a neighborhood and having the opportunity to cook; most days we went to the small farm stand/market in the Santo Spirito Square. We also stopped... More

I was so sad to leave the beautiful massimo apartment after our stay! Perfectly positioned to be close enough to town and far enough away to get away from it, we enjoyed every minute. The hosts were perfect- providing us with breakfast snacks and dinner suggestions (we definitely recommend gustas) The only down side was the blasted mosquito who had... More

Once again, my stay at Il Carmine (Domus apartment) was a wonderful and memorable experience. I feel blessed and lucky to stay here whenever I visit Florence. Miraim, Emilio and Caterina are "family" and my heart feels "at home" when I am there. The garden is a magical and peaceful place to relax after a crazy busy day of being... More

Emilio and his family were fabulous hosts and the historic suite we stayed in was absolutely amazing. Our apartment was large and clean and filled with amazing antiques. The garden courtyard is available for all to enjoy. The welcome basket was overflowing with wonderful sweets and fruit and very nearby the apartment were local shops to purchase fresh bread and... We stayed here for 5 nights. Florence can be stressful but this relaxing place is across the river in oltrarno and we looked forward to going back to home base during the day. It is not far from the attractions and great restaurants. Very convenient to laundromat and supermarket. We saved some money by cooking dinners on a few nights.... More
