This hotel, crafted from a 16th century monastery, is in the same block as the Florence Accademia (home to Michelangelo's fabulous David), two short blocks to the Duomo, four blocks from the Uffizi Gallery, and five blocks from Ponte Vecchio. Walking between these marvelous sites you see street markets (notably leather goods like handbags, belts, and coats as well as... More

If I were to return to Florence, I would definitely stay here again. As the other reviewers have said, it was centrally located, yet, in a quiet area. As a female, solo traveller, I felt completely safe here, despite the vagrants that congregated in the early evening and stayed overnight. I would often walk to the hotel late at night... More

Our stay at Loggiato dei Serviti was wonderful. This was our first trip to Italy and when we arrived at Loggiato, it was like coming home, welcomed by family. We especially loved the size of the hotel. I know we were not the only people there, but the staff made us feel as if we were. The location was perfect... More

The Loggiato was recommended by two neighbors, both academics. We owe them each a very nice dinner. The hotel is excellently located. The rooms are spacious & clean. The view from our room (#30) was spectacular. The staff was accommodating (they made museum/garden reservations for us) and full of useful information (restaurants; opening & closing times; public transportation). Negatives? The... More

This was a fantastic hotel in Florence -- lovely ambiance, great location, helpful staff. The only thing I would do differently next time is to reserve a room in the back, off the street, for greater quiet. Will definately stay here again!

Located on the agreed-upon most classic plaza in Italy, 3 blocks from the Duomo. Easy access to all the sights. A converted monastery - the suite we stayed in was classic and beautifully appointed. The very personable staff, as mentioned, did their best to make the guests feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. I would not hesitate to... More

The location in Florence is nice, but not so excellent as Rick Steves' guidebook says. When we stayed there, the small square was uneventful except for the construction projects, and filled with gypsies. The hotel's history is appreciated, but the mattress dates from the Renaissance as well. Our shower equipment leaked, and my wife had to wash her hair in... More

This hotel is NOT the Typical modern, American hotels. It is an very old building, on Some That level, Makes you feel like you are back in time. Some nice architectural features, sort of secluded, although near everthing. Some people complain about the vagrants. Were there a couple of theme, congregated in a corner, but i Walked aroun Theme and... More

My (new) wife and I spent our honeymoon in Italy, from Milan down to the Amalfi coast. It was Florence, and the Hotel Loggiato dei Serviti, however, that quickly became our favorite part of the trip. Located in a beautiful part of Firenze very close to the Duomo, the Accademia, and in close walking distance to the Uffizi and Ponte... More
