I loved this hotel, one of my favourites on our month long tour of Europe. The rooms are incredible. High ceilings, original floors, gorgeous art work. The staff went out of their way to assist in any way they could and their breakfasts were amazing. The location couldn't have been better. Close to the main square and sharing a square... More

Conveniently located within walking distance of almost all of Florence's main sights and full of old world charm. Fair and safe valet service is available and the breakfast was delicious and varied. We stayed in a family suite (loft room). It was much more spacious than we assumed and had 2 bathrooms (always a nice extra for large families) My... More

We've stayed at this historic inn six times now, and we still get excited to arrive before each visit. For sure there are more modern hotels in Florence, but we've run across none that can match Loggiato dei Serviti in terms of charm, comfort and hospitality. We've always found the staff unbelievably helpful and patient before and during our visits,... More

Visited January 2016 with family. Old world charm with antiques. Not contemporary but extremely charming decor. Stayed in spacious 3 person family room. View of square. Enchanting hotel with historical significance. Service was very attentive. Great location. Excellent breakfast. Would enjoy returning in future.

Within walking distance of everything we wanted to see, comfortable room in an old monastery overlooking a wide open square. The staff got us reservations so we could skip lines, although on a rainy day in January there were no lines even at Uffizi. They also sent us to a good restaurant, the Accademia, in the next piazza.

This is the second review of this business since our first stay in October 2011 (see previous comments at https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/ShowUserReviews-g187895-d191164-r119702605-Hotel_Loggiato_dei_Serviti-Florence_Tuscany.html). We had booked many months in advance and stayed 5 nights (7.12.15 – 12.12.15). Although we arrived on a public holiday and after dark, check-in was again swift and friendly. We absolutely loved our allocated room on the 3rd floor... More

My wife and I stayed here 4 nights, including Christmas Eve and day. The hotel is located in what was, long ago, a monastery. Much of that feeling remains: windows with shutters open overlooking small courtyard - our room had a view of the Duomo. Stucco walls with ceiling timbers that were probably cut by hand a long time ago.... More

This ancient monastery is a totally elegant conversion to a hotel in a top notch location. A short walk to the duomo and all the other important city sights. Great hospitality , breakfast, cocktail lounge. Rick Steves likes it too. His tour group was staying while we were there. The gypsies will congregate outside early in the morning on the... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
