Set a bit away from the centre this hotel provides a little bit of peace in the tourist chaos of Florence. It has a nice old world charm mixed with a modern sense of purpose. This is not the hotel chain, formula accommodation and is better for it. The rooms are a bit quirky, the shower glass not stopping you... More

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Hotel Villa Medici for 3 nights in August. Our room was beautiful and had its own roof terrace. The staff at the hotel were amazing, the place was immaculate and the breakfast was fabulous. The outdoor pool was lovely after a hard day site seeing. The hotel was only a short walk... More

Nice hotel again needs refurbishment I simply dont know how so many it seems hotels in Florence have a five star rating when they clearly should not . Pleasant garden for breakfast with a swimming pool surrounded by ugly ropes for reasons I could not fathom ? Would rather stay close to town since also if you do buy anything... More

We picked this hotel as we were arriving in the city by bus near to the central train staion and we wanted somewhere up market that we could walk to with suitcases. This was less than 10 mins walk away. We also wanted a pool to relax by as we had read that Florence gets very hot during August, and... More

This Hotel is wonderful and one of the things that stood out most for us was the outstanding service from the staff. We had a beautiful room overlooking the pool with a fabulous balcony and we loved our stay. There is a really friendly personal vibe at the hotel, and a complimentary car service which we used twice to take... More

Stayed here recently for 3 nights. Staff could not be more helpful or friendly. Nothing too much bother. Our bags were held up by the airline, but the concierge sorted a lot of it out for us and jigged the courier along for us. We only ate breakfast here, there being too many good places nearby to enjoy instead. Dinner... More

Lovely hotel, spacious comfortable rooms with the bonus of a small garden and pool. Helpful consierge service who recommended and booked 3 excellent restaurants in walking distance, Buca Mario, Tratorria dei 13 Gobbi and Il Parione The downside - overpriced drinks (of course we expect to pay more in a hotel but 17euros for a small Aperol spritz is excessive)... The only bad thing I can say about this hotel is that I was only in Florence for one night! it is a very nice place and is great value for money. Just outside the piazza Duomo...a nice walk to burn off an amazing dinner.

A hotel which is good for italian standard, even though it is expensive and at a distance from the mayor attractions in Florense. Service was ok and the hotel is clean and beautiful enough. It has a parking, which is quite expensive, and breakfast, which is more expensive.

The hotel has a nice old grandeur feel to it, but with all the modern conveniances. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the service was outstanding. There is a nice swimmingpool set in a lovely garden, which we used every day, since temperatures ran up to 32 degrees C. The hotel is situated on the edge of the historic... More
