Platinhome seems to consist of 2 separate properties. We were automatically "upgraded" to the Piazza De Republica (Medici room) which I was a little weary about but it turned out to be awesome. Absolutely great location. You can see the Duomo from outside your balcony and walk to it in 5 minutes. Right in the middle of the high end... More

After a horrible experience with a rented apartment, we contacted the Platinhome email in a panic, looking to book and check in before the stated check in time. The response was almost immediate and Iva was so accommodating. She met us for check in hours before the 2:30 time, and she was very pleasant do deal with. The room itself... More

Spent one night here whilst travelling through from Venice to the mountains. Absolutely perfect. The staff were very warm and friendly, they even offered to keep our bags while we went out for breakfast after check out. The room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Fantastic location right next to the Duomo. We'll most certainly be coming back next year!

We booked the Uffizi suite and this was just great ! Very spacious, 2 bath rooms and a big jacuzzi in the bedroom. Also spacious terrace outside with cosy lounge chairs. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

This place is truly awesome. A representative of the property met us at the door when we arrived and gave us her cell phone number as a resource for anything we needed during our stay. The location is in the heart of Florence and could not be better. From the moment we placed the key into the enormous door of... More

The Duomo apartment in Piazza della Repubblica was very well located and perfect for two people. It has an outfitted kitchen (keep in mind that you must buy everything including salt, pepper, oil etc) and has a really great view of the Duomo. Of note, the wifi that is included is actually fairly fast for Italian standards. The bed is... More

What a find, this is an absolute treat! We booked on line to what I thought was the Duomo suite but later found out that it wasn't possible to book a particular suite on line - do it by phone if you know the one you want! We were allocated the Strozzi apartment - I needn't have worried.. it was... More

From the moment we arrived in the impressive, and eleganty appointed Republicca Square we were completely taken with both the vibrancy of city and the luxurious apartment that we thankfully opted to stay in. The Duomo suite simply exceeded all expectations and provided us the perfect base from which to explore this special city. We had an amazing view of... More

Although it took my wife and I a little while to locate the Platinhome (due to our own stupidity), we couldn't have been happier with our choice of accommodation. Located in Piazza Republicca, in the heart of Florence, it has an extensive terrace that offers guests a spectacular view of the Duomo. Other brilliant features include a fancy telescope and... My wife and I, having been to Florence previously, decided to try Platinhome, a different kind of hotel. The most evident change from most boutique, five star hotels, is the lack of a formal reception. For us, this proved to be a non-issue. We found the staff attentive and only an easy phone call or email away. We stayed at... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
